3 night trip -Great Place
We enjoyed the location of the property very much. It was close to all the action but super quiet at night. The house is super charming and clean. If you’re into historic homes, this would be a great place for you! Also, it is SUPER CLOSE to the street car on canal and everything downtown. It was a quick 8-10 minute uber ride to the French Quarter. We also loved the front porch and rocking chairs. It was a great outdoor space for us.
Things we wished we had: extra pillows, an ironing board and toilet paper!
There wasn’t any extra toilet paper(the roll was not full when we arrived) so we did have to go out and grab some, so keep that in mind. The shower in the first bathroom was tiny but functional. The home is shotgun style so you have to go through one bedroom to get to the other-wasn’t a big deal, we just knocked when we needed to get through.
For the price & location, it was a great stay.
Shot Gun House
The place was clean and near to the events we were in New Orleans for. It could have had more coffee cups.
Great Location, Great Place
This 100 year old beauty was perfectly located for our Jazzfest needs. Located in a quiet neighborhood walking distance from trolleys on Canal and Carrollton with a coffee shop, a couple of restaurants nearby as well, you hardly need a car. Grocery shopping at Rouses and a Walgreens are close too. If you need bigger stuff there's a Costco a short ride away.
The place was immaculate. Beds comfortable, linens soft. Pots, pans, plates, silverware, towels etc. are supplied as with most Homeaway properties. Sound proofing was excellent. But it is a side by side shotgun set up. So we heard some walking next door but nothing to yip about. I'm hoping we didn't make too much noise for them. The shotgun formation is interesting as you walk through one bedroom in the center of the space to get to the back bedroom. After some discussion with our roommates, a knock on the door sufficed to allow us to transverse the bedroom with no ill effect to our sensibilities.
Rockers on the front porch were a great place to relax after a day of food, drinks and music at the Jazz Fest.
We would most definitely stay here again. Thanks NIck. Had a blast.
This cottage suited us ( 3 adult women-a mother daughter combo, and aunt) very well, especially the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom ( one with a two sink vanity) set up with common kitchen and living areas, all on one floor and the price was right. Very attractive from the front outside, including a small porch. The streetcar is actually more like 3 blocks from the house, but quite convenient, as were Ubers when grocery shopping, weather or timing issues. AC and heat worked, surprisingly necessary for April weather! Kitchen appliances and cooking/servingware were all sufficient. I would absolutely stay here again.
Comforts of home!
We enjoyed our stay at Nick’s. It was very comfortable and just as described in the listing. Nick was very responsive and communication was easy. Good location and easy to get anywhere via the streetcar. Loved it and would stay there again! Thank you!
A great stay in the Big Easy
Great quiet location with lovely neighborhood restaurants. Very easy access, via the trolley, to the Quarter and shopping. The home was clean, comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed sitting on the porch in the new rocking chairs watching the world go by. Highly recommend, we’ll be back.
