1Full BA, one Bedroom with 2 double beds. LR with pull out couch. Sleeps 4.
Guests tell me the photos don't do the cottage and property justice. Read our reviews. Very private. Clean. Lots of space. Drive down to the beach. The East side of Seneca Lake has lots of sun and beautiful sunsets. New 100 foot dock. New windows, doors and air conditioning. Close to wineries, college campuses, and Sampson State Park. Ten miles from Geneva for shopping, movies, and food. Two Five Star restaurants within 15 miles. Each year we renovate another part of our little cottage and many of our guests and their pets return every year. One bedroom with two double beds and a large living room with one pull out couch can sleep 4. Cottage is 880 square feet so best for 2-4 people. Cozy but maybe too small for anyone 6 foot 2 or over. New kitchen appliances, cupboards, air conditioning, and microwave. We added a pellet stove for visits in the early spring or late fall for wine tours, an aluminum boat for fishing, a canoe and 2 kayaks for sunsets on the lake. For further information, call or e-mail me. It is a lovely place to relax.
Enjoy the quiet - pets welcome. Guests and their pets return every year. One of the few places with no stairs to the lake. Everyone enjoys swimming in the lake, laying on the dock, visiting the wineries (we have three within 7 miles and a new brewery) and local restaurants. Others have ventured to Ithaca, Rochester, and Canandaigua to visit museums, gourmet restaurants, and historic sites. The bedroom is above the lake so when you wake up in the morning, you can see right onto the lake. The kitchen and dining area are on the bottom floor and look right onto the water. There are many places to walk including a two mile hike up to Sampson State Park.
If you need to get away from the stress of your life, this is the place.
Enjoy the Lake: This is NOT for you IF you want a high energy vacation. See the herons land on the dock each evening and the ducklings come by each morning. The waves will rock you to sleep. Swim and kayak during the day. Take out the rowboat to fish. Have beach fires at night and visit our many wonderful wineries, breweries, and restaurants nearby. No cable TV (just DVD movies). No internet but if you want, you can smart phone your way into the busy life of your workplace. We suggest you don't. Just relax and get away. This is truly the country and as our friend Simon says, "They aren't building any more lakes."

About Cindy Lont, owner
My family purchased the property in the 1960s and over the years we added rooms and renovated what was a little boathouse into a full functioning cottage right on the lake. No one is allowed to build this close to the lake anymore but we were grandfathered since the building was here before that ruling. Each year I add something new. In 2015, it was a 100 foot permanent dock, new doors and new windows. In 2015, I retired from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia where I had been a professor since 1984. Some people retire to the south. I retired back home to the north. I have two adult children who help me with the cottage (Until they graduate from college). I have been renovating and renting this cottage for 10 years. It has been great meeting nice people (and their pets) and having them return year after year.

Why Cindy Lont, owner chose Romulus
The difference between this cottage and the others on the lake is the location. It is very private with over 280 feet of lake shore just for you. There are no stairs going down to the lake like other cottages. You walk out the door, two steps off the deck and you are 6 feet from the water. You park your car down on the beach. It is private, quiet, and you can relax. No landline phones, no internet, no cable. Lots of DVDs, CDs, books, swimming, sun and boating. Want to leave work behind? This is the place.
What makes this Cottage unique
My parents always had a house on Seneca lake for summers. After 40 years, I finally live on the lake year round. The cottage property is so beautiful. I love the fires at night, the sunsets and swimming off the dock. Every night is a different sunset.

Definitely our new favorite place!
We just got back from a few day stay, and absolutely loved the trip! My wife and I frequent Seneca Lake and have stayed numerous places, but this has been our favorite yet. Partly because it was pet friendly for our two poodles, but also Cindy was a great host. The cottage had a nice quaint lake cottage feel to it, the new large window upstairs had an amazing lake view, and even though we didn't need to use the new Mitsubishi ductless AC units, they were there, as well as a nice pellet stove if it was too cold. The length of the lot was incredible, felt super private, our dogs loved the shallow creek along the side of the property. We didn't get a chance to take out the kayaks, row boat, or canoe, but it was fantastic that they were included. The grill was nice and newer, and the fire pit was plenty large, which we used both frequently. The cottage itself was very clean, and had everything we could've wanted or needed, and Cindy made it very clear to not hesitate if we needed anything else. We 100% plan on booking again whenever it's just my wife and I and not a larger group. It's a straight shot to 3 Brothers, only about 6-7 minutes away, which is one of our favorites. Also, a short walk to a side entrance to trails at Sampson State Park, which is an added bonus. It truly was a great cottage, and us and the pups can't wait to visit again!
Wonderful spot to stay!
We really enjoyed our stay in June! It was a beautiful spot right on the lake. Cindy was extremely helpful with the stay! Will definitely be coming back!!
We had a wonderful stay at the property. We brought our two labs and they had a great time swimming in the lake. The dock is really nice and there is an outdoor eating area with a very nice grill, as well as a fire pit for campfires. The interior is very clean and in my opinion was actually nicer than it appears in the photos. I know the listing mentions low ceilings - my boyfriend is 6'2 and he was ok. Overall, a great stay in a beautiful spot!
We love it when dogs are as happy as their people. Guests who come back year after year, say their dog always know when they have arrived and are happy to come back and enjoy the water and the walks. For those guests without dogs, they say the same thing but add wine to the list (water, walks, and wine). Many say, it's like coming home. That's the best compliment ever!!!
Great little house with awesome lake view. Perfect
We couldn't have been happier during our visit to Seneca Lake. The lake house was outfitted with all the modern conveniences in top shape. Owner Cindy met us and our 2 Newfoundland dogs to make us all feel right at home from the start. She was very helpful & available when we had questions. Such a beautiful, private setting. Can't wait to return!
Great Location for Weekend Getaway
All of the descriptions and reviews of this property were very accurate. Cindy was a great host, and was easy to communicate with. The house is very private and perfect for a weekend retreat. We loved how close we were to the lake (just a few feet away) and took advantage of the dock and boat. We will definitely be back!
Piece of heaven
Cindy was an amazing host! She gave us our space but was there for any questions. We felt so welcomed. It would be impossible not to be enchanted by this lakeside cottage. We had the lakefront to ourselves and it was perfect for snuggling up and watching the sunset on the dock. Waking up to the sound of waves was just as magical. Our little dog LOVED the cottage just as much as we did. There is a lovely place only a few miles down the road that has 3 wineries and a brewery in one location if that is your niche. And I can't forget the fall foilege! Beautiful. Cannot say enough about how relaxing this trip was!
Cottage is 10 miles from Geneva on the East Side of Seneca lake. Three wineries and a brewery are within 7 miles and the cottage is three miles from Sampson State Park. Other Activities: Twenty miles from Watkins Glen for a wonderful hike through the Glen. Three miles from Sampson State Park and the military museum. Fifteen miles from Seneca Falls, home of Women's Rights. Around Seneca Lake, there are more than 50 wineries.
