Close to all that Brixham has to offer and location in the heart of Brixham's conservation area, 3 Captains Rest is an ideal base for exploring the local area and immersing yourself in the local way of life. Stepping outside and you’ll find yourself in the hustle and bustle of the town centre, and a few short steps down the road will see you right at the harbour. Look out for the stunning replica of Sir Francis Drake’s famous galleon The Golden Hind, which welcomes you aboard all year round.

Home to one of Britain’s oldest working fishing ports, Brixham has long been famed for its links to the sea, and now has an up and coming culinary scene to add to its armoury, with an increasing number of independent cafés and delightful restaurants offering ingredients landed just a stones’ throw from their doorstep.

For the walkers, The South West Coast Path will take you as far as your legs will carry you, and entertaining the little ones couldn’t be easier with Paignton Zoo, The Dartmouth Steam Railway and Splashdown @ Quay West all within a short drive.

There is nearby on-street parking in this conservation area or alternatively there is the option of a Torbay Council parking permit at the cost of £33 for a week. The nearest eligible car park to the apartment is about 5 minutes away and there is an added benefit of the pass also allowing free car parking across a wide range of Council run car parks in Brixham, Torquay and Paignton. We have only recently 'rediscovered' Brixham. This really pretty and picturesque fishing town has undergone significant investment and we fell in love with the feel and charm of the place. We visit regularly and simply can't get enough of Brixham!!

Why Colin & Sally Reid chose Torbay

We were looking for a holiday home in Brixham and came across this new build property in February 2014. We were immediately struck by the fact that this block of 4 apartments was built in total keeping with the locality having been constructed in traditional Fishermans Cottage style in a conservation area. However, as this is a new-build, the apartments come complete with all modern construction and insulation methods so we get the best of both worlds!

I think we said it above; this is a thoroughly 21st Century property constructed in traditional 18th Century Fishermans Cottage style

A lovely modern and well located apartment

Captain's Rest was very well equipped and immaculately clean and organised. It is located at the heart of Brixham which is a friendly and attractive place with easy access to the areas attractions. By chance, we arrived during the Pirate Festival which was great fun. Recommended.

Clean, bright and comfortable apartment with everything we needed

We were very happy with this apartment which was in a great spot near the harbour. We parked in the car park nearby and bought a weekly parking permit which was very useful. The bottle of wine and milk in the fridge was a lovely thought. Access to WiFi was good. We would definitely stay there again.

Excellent, modern holiday apartment, ideally located.

My wife, our daughter and I had an excellent week at Captain's Rest in early August. Everything we needed was to hand, from kitchen to bathroom to lounge to bedroom. Brixham is a wonderful town for a relaxing holiday. Best tips: walk around the harbour, past the breakwater and up the hill to Berry Head. Dolphins, porpoises and seals can be seen. The Guardhouse cafe there is superb, while Shoals on the Lido is great for bigger meals or just a top-value 99 ice cream cone. The Western Lady ferry to Torquay is a good way to enjoy Torbay from the sea.

Fabulous Flat in a Perfect Location

We had a great stay in Colin and Sally's flat. The flat itself is very cozy and comfortable. Has all the amenities one would need and very nice touches including a welcome bottle of wine and milk. The kitchen is well equipped with everything and the beds are very comfy. The location of the flat it PERFECT. Right in the center of the quaint town with loads of walk options nearby. Would certainly visit again!!
