Why Alessandra A chose Gaiole In Chianti
Fallen in love with Capannole hamlet few years ago because of its views and secluded location at the same time vicinity to two towns. The details of the property make this apartment full of character.

Fabulous family-friendly apartment outside Radda surrounded by vineyards
We loved our stay at Mariolina! We're a family of 5 with 3 young boys (ages 5.5, 3 and 20 months) and it was a great 9-night base for L'Eroica. The eldest loved the loft bed, the middle was thrilled to have his own room (shares with oldest at home), and Alessandra kindly provided a travel crib for our youngest to use. We did laundry every day (took a little fiddling to figure out the clothes washer for this American but it was pretty intuitive) and put it out on the drying rack in the garden sunshine. The enclosed garden was a great feature for us -- the boys could go outside to play & climb the olive trees without us having to worry too much about where they were. The kitchen had all we needed for cooking and there were plenty of dishes for serving. We loved the quiet and enjoyed seeing the Milky Way and stars at night; we also saw a young stag, fox and porcupine on the road the day of L'Eroica (2 October). We used the heating the last couple nights as it was rainy and foggy -- it worked quickly and kept the apartment nicely warm (and the radiators were great for drying the laundry those days).
The gravel road to the apartment from the paved road out of Radda is a bit bumpy in spots but our rental Peugeot station wagon handled it easily with a bit of care by the driver -- the gravel road from the Gaiole side definitely requires high clearance under the vehicle and I don't recommend attempting it. It was easy to reach Siena, Firenze, and other tourist spots (our car had built in GPS which was a great help) from the apartment. There was another group staying in one of the other apartments but we only know they were there from seeing their car in the shared parking area. Alessandra's family owns & operates the largest restaurant on the main piazza in Gaiole about 10 kms away and our boys highly recommend the gelato! This was our second trip to the area for L'Eroica and if my husband decides to ride L'Eroica again this is our first choice of a home base. Mille grazie Alessandra e famiglia!
very beautiful home, our 2 girls enjoyed their stay as well, beautiful view
