As a child I holidayed here many times and fell in love with the island. It offers both freedom to do as you like and great pubs, food and natural landscape beauty.
Anastasia mccrave purchased this house in 2001
Anastasia Byrne. I've owned and enjoyed this property for 13 years now and I can honestly say it is the only place I can forget about time and just relax. I enjoy the area immensely. I love Anglesey because of the fantastic facilities in the area. There are some beautiful beaches and the village offers a great range of bars and restaurants. There really is something for everyone here. The area is easily accessible off the A55. The property is just ten minutes walk from the fabulous beach. The Cottage is close to the most dramatic stage of the Anglesey Coastal Path. Just walk along the pebble bar at Cemlyn Bay to join it and explore in either direction for a diverse range of dramatic scenery. The Island has a wide selection of beautiful beaches many with Blue Flag, Green Flag or Seaside Awards. The nearest, Cemlyn Bay is a nature reserve popular for bird watching, fishing, kayaking and skimming stones, you may even be lucky enough to spot porpoise and dolphin in late Spring and Summer.
The house is 10 minutes from the beach were you can view local wildlife, it benefits from local pubs, great walks. It does make you forget time.
A lovely week spent here, house is very cosy and is equipped with everything you need. Owner is quick to reply. A shame the sky subscription had been stopped but owner generously offered to refund us if we wanted to watch anything. There are currently road works in the area, which disrupted travel routes occasionally, however this is only temporary. The 2 log burners are great and the views nice. Overall an enjoyable week away. Thanks.
The location of this property is stunning, beautiful views and walks in every direction. The house itself is a big house however it does need a bit of a face-lift, we had a few issues with the property, these were as follows:-
) 1 bulb working in our bedroom.
) staircarpet needed cleaning.
) dust gathered around tv.
) wifi wasn't working.
) every room needed a coat of paint.
) taps in bathroom, frightened of using them in case i broke them.
A lovely location, house just needs sprucing up.
Great house. Our children would have liked a dishwasher. Made great use of fire, sun room and garden.
Thank you for a great week in The Cottage, the welcome gifts and card was a lovely touch! The cottage is amazing starting with the sun room where you can watch the calfs and see birds then the sky sports and movies kept the children entertained the bedrooms are a great size and comfy beds. Plenty of DVDS, CDS, Games and books for rainy days. Great quiet location overall perfect holiday.
Thank you Anastasia and Phil
Our first holiday with our dog, and we all loved the cottage, the welcome gifts were a lovely touch. We had a great week with the weather plenty of lovely beaches and walks. The cottage was very cosy after a day out, with the log fire and fantastic sunsets each evening. We even enjoyed our daily visits from the local farm animals. We would recommend this as an ideal cottage for everyone and within easy reach of lots of interesting places and walks.
Thanks you Gill Dave and Sky. ps Sky loved the little black cat that came in everyday .

Nearest Village is Cemeas Bay which is about 2 miles. Shops in Holyhead 20mins. Beaumaris, about 30mins away is a lovely day out, with its fantastic castle, shops and views across the Menai Strait. Rhosneigr is a nice 30min drive and boasts nice cafes, shops. Trearddur Bay, just 20mins away offers a stunning rugged coastline and with many sandy coves and another great day trip to South Stack.
The use of a car or transport is recommended to make the most of the lovely island of Anglesey and Snowdonia beyond. The Holyhead Ferry Terminal is just 20 mins drive and trains go to Valley Station from Llandudno Junction.
Pleasant 10 minute walk to the local beach in Cemlyn, this beach is a wonderful pebble bar with a large brackish lake popular with wading birds, ducks and swans. You can also drive or walk to the village of Cemeas Bay that has a lovely, safe, sandy beach front and nice shops.
Cemlyn is renound as a Birdwatching area with many wonderful birds to be seen in the cove not 10 minutes away. The area is within the National Trust zone and is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Useful Information - Local Shops are plentiful in Cemeas Bay but times of opening are not as long as those you are probably used to. On Saturdays the butcher, chemist and some bakeries will close as early as 1pm, although the Londis stays open until 10pm most days. For ‘big’ shops there is a Tesco, Morrisons and Asda in Holyhead.
There are local water sports that you can enjoy. Windsurfing is very popular all year round in nearby Church Bay and Rhosneigr
There is a post office and ATM in Cemeas Bay
There are plenty of good places to eat out on the Island, The Harbour in Cemeas has a restaurant and bar meals and offers good value, as does The Stag. The Black Lion is a popular local gastro pub and does a good Sunday set menu. The Lobster Pot in Church Bay is said to be one of the best seafood restaurants but can be pricey. The Waterfront in Treaddur Bay has lovely views, is reasonably priced and has a nice modern restaurant. The White Eagle in Rhosgoch has nice views and is said to have been popular with Wills and Kate (booking advised for dinner in Summer). The Bull in Beamaris has an excellent reputation, it has a modern bistro and traditional restaurant set in one of the oldest pubs in Wales. The Oyster Catcher in Rhosneigr is a lovely spot for lunch or dinner in Summer and has an interesting art gallery!
The Ship on Red Wharf Bay is also good and is a lovely location (especially in Summer). Go through Benllech and turn left at the sign for the camp-site (by the house that was once a windmill) and follow the narrow road down to the left. There is also a good pub in Molfre called the Kinmel, the food is good, reasonably priced and the village picturesque. Plas Newdd tea room is set in an 18th century mansion in Llanfair and was listed as one of the top 100 places to enjoy afternoon tea in Summer 2005 edition of Observer Food Magazine, the grounds are beautiful as is the mansion house itself check opening times on-line off season). There is lots of good walking in the immediate area and the coastal routes nearby are considered the most diverse and dramatic on Anglesey and were featured in Trek magazine. The Peppermill in valley is one of our favourite eateries very good food and good prices as is The harbour front Holyhead, a pub to visit would be Ty Coch Inn, Porthdinllaen which is rated the best pub in Wales and in the top ten in the world and for real ale drinkers try the Purple Dragon.
Available from 3pm on the Saturday and vacate at 11am to allow for changeover. We would ask to have use of the hose pipe and a plug to be able to utilise an hour tidying the garden from10am this allows you another hour rather than ask to vacate at 10am.
Cancellations must be given in due notice of four weeks to enable us to re advertise the cottage and your deposit is then refunded.
