About The Owner

I worked as a construction supervisor for a nonprofit builder for 21 years.I am practicing General Contracting again and like to build Energy Effecient homes in the Asheville,NC area.

The Owner purchased this house in 2007

Why The Owner chose Charleston Area

We love the Island, and I like to salt water fish.We live in the mountains and enjoy the coast as a warm getaway in the winter. Our family has strong ties to S.C.and this feels like home.

What makes this house unique

We can do a lot of things outdoors year-round,such as gardening and walking and fishing, because of the temperate climate. It's a quiet, rural setting, perfect for relaxing and close to boat landing for the fisherman and also near to the beach.

Wonderful in every way! !

  • 5 of 5

Great place. Extremely nice and private location but close enough to everything that you want or need. I was really impressed by the owners of the property, they made it so easy and welcoming and every detail was taken care. The pictures of the property are very accurate and with the extra information for the area from Doug and Mary, it would easy to get around. I would highly recommend this place to anyone! ! Great trip all around! Will definitely come back again!

Great hidden getaway for relaxation

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely love the little cottage, and all that it had to offer! I would definitely recommend to anyone needing a quiet, secluded, spot for a vacation that is close to the beach, but not so close that you can't enjoy the serenity of the outdoors around you. Doug was so easy to work with, and made sure he was available anytime that he was needed.

Off the beaten path

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. The cottage was perfect for my wife and me, and our teenage son. It was secluded and quiet, but close to the beach and town. We enjoyed the fresh seafood that is only about 2 miles up the road - quite handy. The cottage was comfortable, clean and just what we wanted. We had no issues with anything while we were there. Thank you!

A more affordable beach experience

  • 5 of 5

This rental were perfect for those who want to enjoy the Edisto Beach area, but don't want to pay the higher price of a full week beach rental. We didn't find anything missing. Had a great selection of games and books. Even had a washer/dryer. Short drive, 8 minutes to Botany Bay (absolute must see) and 12 minutes to the beach. The only problem is that after a major rain, the 1 mile dirt road is extremely slick and difficult to drive on. We would definitely stay again.
