Lovely weekend with lots of space for a big group. Kids loved the garden and tennis court and the kitchen very well ell equipped for large numbers. A beautiful part of the country
Thank you - that sums the property up well
We spent a long weekend at Oakhurst for my girlfriend's 30th birthday with a big group of friends and had an amazing time. The house was in great condition. If you're looking for a weekend away in the New Forest to escape the hustle and bustle of life this is ideal. You don't actually need to leave the house to have a wonderful time! Huge garden, tennis court, pool table, massive patio for BBQs. Ticked every box. Thank you!
Long weekend for four couples and a toddler...lovely spacious house which was warm and comfortable, secluded. Patios and tennis court were used for all sorts of fun and games - boys will always be boys. Plenty of seating for the whole group together or quiet corners for peace. There are 2 high chairs and 2 cots, and an optional stair gate which aren't mentioned in the facilities.
Great place for a reunion!
We rented Oakhurst for three days for a university friends' reunion (7 adults; 4 kids). The house was perfect! It is very spacious, well-equipped and has large grounds. We loved the big, open fireplace and spacious kitchen/breakfast room. The kids made full-use of the tennis court and pool table. I would definitely recommend Oakhurst for any large gathering.
Great - I'm delighted that everyone enjoyed their stay. Happy New Year
Fabulous, family getaway
We have just returned from another wonderful long weekend at Oakhurst. As always, the house was exceptionally clean and the beds very comfortable. Whilst the property is large, it gets very cosy and warm, perfect to relax in on a cold winters night. My boys made great use of the tennis court and football posts throughout our stay. they absolutely loved being there and hated leaving. We would thoroughly recommend this property to those with and without children as it certainly caters for all.
Perfect house for a surprise birthday with friends
We have just had an amazing weekend away for my husbands surprise birthday with our friends. The photos of the lounge and kitchen don't show how large the rooms really are there were 10 adults and we could all be in the same room comfortably. Lots of outside space were the men enjoyed basketball. Great location and easy to find, perfect for walks and relaxing. The bedding was abit dated but everything was clean. Close to the local pub were we all had an amazing roast! We would recommend this property
Oakhurst is located about half a mile south of Marchwood on the road to Hythe. It is on the eastern fringe of the New Forest and within the new National Park. You can walk to Hythe, where there is a regular ferry service to Southampton, along a country lane and a public footpath via Hythe marina. Hythe and Marchwood have numerous shops, restaurants, pubs and local amenities. The New Forest has obvious attractions such as the ponies and the picturesque village of Beaulieu which is about 5 miles away. Southampton is a major city and port with several new shopping centres and a Premier League football team.
