Situated in the heart of the historic San Francisco Street district, Casa Colores is within walking distance of the downtown plaza, Lensic Theater, Georgia O'Keefe museum, Santa Fe Convention Center, endless fine dining, and wonderful shopping. This very special casa is a fully-restored 125 year-old territorial style gem, featuring old world charm and contemporary amenities. The renovated building was featured in the 1999 Metropolitan Home winner's edition for its inviting elegance and Southwestern charm.
Lovingly refurbished in 2015 our 2 bedroom casa has the warm coziness of double-adobe plastered walls, eleven foot viga ceilings, kiva fireplace with candles (not a working fireplace) brick and original wood floors, air conditioning and a beautiful private garden area with porch swing and dining area. To these traditional touches we include the following to ensure your comfort: washer/dryer, TV, microwave, full kitchen with a dining table that seats 6, king bed, 2 twin beds, love seat sleeper, plush robes, and beautiful furnishings.
We live in Santa Fe and enjoy meeting our guests from around the world. Being a chiropractor for humans and animals I have worked on many of our guests. We love to travel.
Location, location, location. Restored historical adobe.
Double adobe walls so stays warm in winter and cool in the summer. High ceilings (11') with vigas and plaster walls make you realize you are in a traditional southwestern gem.
We loved staying at your place from December 20-24,2008!!
I can't imagine a better greeting than the soft music playing, the lights on, and all waiting for us at the casita when we arrived late late late on 12/20. What a great continuation of a "relationship" that promised to be spectacular from the first time I connected with you via email and website.
I am so sorry that we didn't invite you in to lounge with us that morning you called and wanted to meet us but we were in our PJs and declined--in hindsight, we should have leapt at the opportunity to meet you and thank you in person. But unfortunately hindsight is clearer than "in the moment" sight, and we didn't. I am so sorry now that we didn't take advantage of your on-site and in-person hospitality and thus missed the chance to meet you.
We loved loved loved your place! It was beautifully decorated, every piece of the furniture was comfortable, it was exquisitely equipped, and there were signs of special touches and thoughtfulness absolutely everywhere! I loved greeting the person who shovelled our driveway and sidewalk, since it was such an over-the-top and pleasant service. By the time the shovelling was needed, I should have known that such thoughtful service was simply "standard fare" in your book--such touches were clear throughout our stay. But they were still astounding and very much appreciated.
Happy 2009 to you and (belated but not insincere by any stretch of the imagination) THANKS!!!!
Tracey and Aaron
P.S. Particularly loved the Linda + Tim imprint in the driveway cement--how utterly charming!!!!!!!!
As a first time user of VRBO, I was not sure what to expect. Once I found this property, the rest of the experience was incredible. Linda responded very quickly verifying availability for my desired dates. From that point on, the process was seamless! Making the initial deposit went well. I corresponded with Linda regarding several attractions such as a spa, dining, etc. Her recommendations were spot on and we enjoyed our 5 day stay at Casa Colores Linda. The pictures and descriptions of the unit were a true representation of the amenities available. Linda kept in constant contact with us up to our arrival. She had provided a nice bottle of wine and stocked the refrigerator with goodies (eggs, coffee, etc). Linda made herself available if we needed any help during our stay. We enjoyed a trip to Ten Thousand Waves Spa, breakfast at Pasqual's and a wonderful Thanksgiving Buffet in town. The proximity to the Square made for an easy walk. Check out was very easy and I would highly recommend Casa Colores Linda to anyone looking for a nice accommodation near the Square and central to Old Town Santa Fe.
Serene, quiet, convenient and much more! Casa Colores Linda has all the comfort of home but with the "specialness" one would want for a Santa Fe get away. Located just minutes from downtown one can easily walk to a delicious breakfast at Angel's or take in an evening performance at The Lensic; the casa door's key code makes your return access painless. Linda was prompt and courteous and answered any and all questions in a timely manner, via email, text or phone. This party of two had plenty of space, and we enjoyed the special amenities: coffee and eggs in the fridge on our arrival, abundance of colored towels making it easy to remember "yours from mine", a lovely fenced in porch for gazing at the stars, enjoying a breakfast or reminiscing about your day in the cool evening hours. The kitchen is well supplied with the amenities you would need for making a quick breakfast or light lunch/dinner. Many nights, after driving all day, we succumbed to the comfortable kitchen bar stools eating fruit, cheese, and drinking hot tea! There is a Sprouts and other retail areas only minutes away. Most importantly, this gracious hostess seems to anticipate the needs of her guests and travelers! Enjoy your time in Santa Fe and we encourage you to begin your visit at the New Mexico History Museum to gain important insight about the beginnings of this vast area of our United States. After all, it's only minutes away from your "home away from home."
Everything was fabulous and as advertised. Within a short walk of the Plaza, Georgia O'Keefe and Clafoutis (great french bakery and breakfast-closed on Sunday). Linda did a great job keeping the Casita well appointed. We loved Santa Fe and enjoyed the art galleries in the Plaza area and on Canyon Road. We also did a road trip to Ghost Ranch and Taos. The scenery is amazing. We enjoyed the Georgia O'Keefe Museum. If you want to do the Abiquiu home and studio tour you need to book months in advance. La Chosa has good food and strong margaritas.
The layout of the casa was thoughtfully designed to accommodate guests. There are ample closets with luggage racks and each bedroom is spacious. The decor is beautifully appointed to reflect the Southwest and the courtyard is a very nice amenity. The kitchen is well supplied and the bathroom is also spacious. The casa is meticulously maintained and the location is ideal for walking to the Plaza. Without a doubt, I would highly recommend staying here. It is perfect!
