Louise purchased this cottage in 2005
The craftsman charm and downtown locale, make this the best of both worlds in Santa Barbara when it comes to easy access to the beach, Wharf and State St.
Quiet and relaxing. Also, dog friendly, with doggie door to secure backyard.
We just returned from a very relaxing week stay in the cottage and we can't stop talking about how much we enjoyed it! The location of the cottage was perfect! We were close to State Street, Stearn's Wharf and many, many fine shops and dining all without any of the traffic noise. The cottage is very comfy, homey, and large enough for small families like mine. You would be very happy to see that all the appliances work very well and the layout is open.
The owner has taken great planning for her guests and you will be very satisfied with everything about your stay in the cottage.
We stayed with another couple for three nights and had a Great time! Once we parked the cars on the street and unloaded them. We didn't use them again untill we left! We walked or used Über most of the time, we did ride the bikes to the harbor on Saturday morning and picked up 4 nice live crabs from the fishermen on the dock for $20 and made a nice lunch from them😀 it was quiet and peaceful at night with the windows left open.(no air conditioning, but totally comfortable with the windows open. Reasonably well stocked, though there is no microwave. We managed just fine though. With two couples we would have liked another bathroom (it is a Jack and Jill style) but it worked out. All in all, it was a nice place to stay and we would definitely consider it again next time we are staying in Santa Barbara!
Just got back from a long weekend at this lovely cottage. It has everything you need in a quiet and relaxing environment. The owner is responsive and helpful. Really enjoyed our time here and hope to be back!
This cottage and the owners are wonderful. The cottage was fully stocked and welcoming. There was even laundry detergent, bike helmets, and coolers for a picnic. It is very clean and decorated nicely. We were a little worried about the street parking a short distance down the ally from the cottage, but, never had any problems. The neighbors are very friendly as well. We slept with the windows open every night and woke up to birds chirping every morning.
Jill and I had a wonderful time in the Santa Barbara Cottage. Volunteered, made new friends, saw parts of Santa Barbara we had never seen before, and re-visited old haunts.
The Cottage worked perfectly for us. It had everything we wanted: Off-street so it was quiet, washer/dryer (new!), nice neighbors, easy walk to the trolley and town. and a kitchen will all the tools. We enjoyed sitting on the porch reading and savoring the beautiful weather.
Thank you for a great three month stay!

My husband, son, and I stayed here in July for a week and really loved Louise's cottage. It is tucked away behind a large house on a street two blocks away from State St (main drag). There is just about everything in this tidy little place: In the kitchen we found-a blender, dishes, and pans,, paper towels and cleaning supples, everything but a microwave oven, but we managed without it. The living room had games, dvds and cd player/radio. The beds are pretty comfy and we slept soundly thanks to the lovely cool evenings and quiet neighborhood. It was fine for the 3 of us, but I think it might be a little tight for 2 couples. It would have been nice to have mirrors in the bedrooms, but once again a minor detail. The bikes in the garage aren't useable, but you can rent bikes at Wheel Fun near the bottom of State St. We didn't rent a car but walked or rode to all the restaurants and shops--and there are heaps! We really liked the cottage and enjoyed our stay here very much. Would absolutely rent here again Loved relaxing on the porch in the wicker chairs. Thanks!
From nearby film festivals on State Street, to weekly art shows on the beach this charming Santa Barbara cottage is accessible to all by walking, biking, public transportation or car. Convenient to the Mission Santa Barbara (1 mile east), lawn bowling (2 blocks south) or an ice cream at McConnells (1 block north), it really is the best of both worlds in Santa Barbara... whether it be by day (on the beach by the pier and in the sun) or night (at a local restaurant for dinner and a movie). Or if you wanna order pizza for delivery (may we suggest Rusty's!) it's just the perfect setting for a quiet evening at home whatching a movie on DVD before another fun and active day in beautiful Santa Barbara. Location is also convenient to MTD bus lines to UCSB and Cottage Hospital.
