I was employed in the fashion industry in NYC for 27 years, while my husband traveled to the far east for his international architectural career. We love to travel, and discover new places. Call for immediate response
Tanya Mazur Pettyjohn 347-834-7723 purchased this house in 2010
A very private property, yet close to the village of Rhinebeck. We have area State Parks all within walking distance to the Dinsmore Golf Course, Norrie Point Marina, Mills Mansion leading to the shore of the Hudson River with beautiful Catskill Mountain views, and the Hopeland trails. Reservoir Road is a historic stone lined road, with views of the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains receiving sun until sunset. We are close to many local farms selling fresh produce.
Sunny, southern exposure, private guest house locate on the second floor for your birds eye view, skylights, private wrap around deck, large jetted tub for 2, and a new king size sleigh bed with a Serta firm Euro topper mattress.
When you first walk into this lovely guest house, you are immediately taken with the spaciousness and
light filling the room from the many windows and the sun coming through the skylights. The closets in the guest house have a stylishly, Franklyn Lloyd Wright, etched design on glass and the King sleigh bed enhances the lay-out of the guest house. The bathroom has an incredible jacuzzi tub and it a great room conducive to a soothing and relaxing evening. We were surprised at the efficiency of the electric heating
as the room warmed up in just a few minutes, which was reassuring since it was expected to be a cold weekend. Tanya, our host, was especially gracious and greeted us warmly and left us a bottle of wine to enjoy and familiarized us with the appliances and things to do in the region. The Mill-Norrie State Park had scenic, graveled paths to explore and the movie theatre in Hyde Park had bargain matinee's for $5.00. We ate a fantastic dinner prepared to perfection at Terrapin in Rhinebeck and had a delicious breakfast at the Matchbox Cafe. I would return to this charming guest house with no reservations.
My husband and I just spent a lovely few days at Tanya's arborcrest cottage. The cottage is just perfect for a couple looking to get away to a beautiful, serene location. You don't really have to bring much as Tanya has supplied the cottage with just about everything you could need including homemade cookies and wine! Tanya is a most gracious hostess and responded within minutes to the one call we made to her. The area has a lot to offer and we really enjoyed hiking in Norrie Point Park. We ended our stay with a delicious lunch at the Culinary Institute which is minutes away. We will definitely be back to explore some of the things we couldn't fit in this time!
If you are looking for a way to pretend you live in the country for a few days, Arborcrest is the perfect spot. Your own cottage in the woods, just minutes from all major Dutchess County attractions, it makes a great base to explore the area. We toured Hyde Park, West Pont, CIA, Old Rhinebeck Areodrome, downtown Rhinebeck, and biked Mills-Norrie State Park. So nice to come home to a large clean space with full kitchen, super comfy king bed, huge bath with super fluffy towels and a wrap around porch for catching the last light of the day or morning coffee. Why spend the same money on a small hotel room when you can have a space that is the size of a small apartment? And the owner, Tanya, was a wealth of information, like having a private concierge. Her house is in front of the cottage but we felt we had complete privacy, and yet she was there if we needed her. She also thoughfully provided coffee, water, wine, fresh flowers and even home made cookies! We would highly recommend Arborcrest as an alternative to the other lodging options in the area. Thanks Tanya!
When i was looking for a quick getaway for me and my husband, the first thing that caught my attention was the sunlit filled rooms and the jacuzzi. As you walk into the guesthouse, the sun is shining all through out and the deck was a great place to enjoy our morning coffee.
We loved our stay at Arborcrest and Tanya was WONDERFUL to work with, she made booking the place effortless and the wealth of information she had about the area and the many things to do was so great and helpful.
There were so many great touches in the house that we have not encountered on any of the other houses we have rented in the past. We felt right at home, Tanya had fresh little arrangement of flowers out, a great bottle of wine chilled in the fridge, bottles of cold water when we arrived and cream for my coffee. How can you go wrong with this, it was great!
We had lunch at the Caterina de Medici restaurant at the Culinary Institute of America campus, a beautiful place to visit. The food and service was wonderful.
The grounds of the Mills mansion is a must see, so relaxing and beautiful. You can have a picnic down by the water and the view is amazing. The town of Rhinebeck is so charming and only a 10 minute drive from the house, so many places to eat and to have a nice stroll with friends or a loved one.
If you love to go antiquing, there are more than enough shops to do that at, you will be tired.
Overall our stay at Arborcrest was amazing and highly recommend a stay there, and thanks again to Tanya for being so helpful and friendly! We would love to return!
Absolutely beautiful, quiet, and well-maintained hideaway in the woods of upstate New York. My wife and I spent three nights there, and would need another week just to start experiencing everything there is located nearby. If you like to bike, hike, bi-plane ride, boat, experience history, and enjoy great dining all is within 5-15 minutes of your door. Do not pass up on eating at Market St! Tanya is an incredible host and a wealth of information about the hidden qualities of the area, including great swimming holes! We'll be back soon! The jet tub make for an intimate evening along with take out from one of the fine restaurants. Do not pass up on this property.
Tanya provided a wonderful place to stay with my girlfriend, who was working in Rhinebeck at the time. The guest house felt very secluded (in a good way) and even though it was unbearably hot outside (100+ heat index) the AC worked its heart out, keeping the house cool.
The bed was cozy and the jetted tub was very relaxing. We also were able to surf the internet and watch Netflix from the wireless router. It was a wonderful ambiance, and I successfully proposed to my girlfriend as well!
Tanya herself was hugely helpful. From stocking the fridge with water bottles to suggesting the best restaurants (all were delicious) and beautiful locations.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone, and i look forward to staying here again!
We are located in an area that receives sun, from sunrise to sunset! Walking distance to 3 state parks in Staatsburg by walking back roads only.
