Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you so much for providing us a wonderful and inviting abode during our recent visit to wine country. Your house was lovely, and with all of the comforts of home -- Kohler appliances, Heath ceramics, antique tables, comfy beds/linens, and even a screwpull wine opener! You've

put a lot of love into the place and it shows. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Next visit we'll spend more time and perhaps have an opportunity to meet you.

A bit of a disappointment

  • 2 of 5

While I always enjoy visiting wine country, this location is not conducive to a peaceful vacation. The noise from the highway is constant and the surrounding properties are dreary. The house is a very old farmhouse and, while it's decorated in a charming manner, the walls are cracked, buckled and heaving. The staircase is downright dangerous; taking a suitcase upstairs is hazardous. The bathrooms are nicely done. Sitting outside is disappointing because the back terrace has no landscaping, just weeds.

It was very hot when we were in town and there are only two window units. At night, it cooled down, but a couple of the windows would not open for some reason, so the AC had to stay on.

The satellite/DirectV system has been disconnected, but the remote remains. Disappointing if you want to catch up on any traditional television or news.

Although it is close to downtown Healdsburg, you could not walk there, but it was a short drive. Overall, not up to the caliber of other homes in the valley.

Air Conditioning was Inadequate for Summer Heat

  • 2 of 5

The house is cute, clean and the location is good but do not plan to go there when the weather is hot. There were only 2 tiny window units - one on each floor - which barely kept the place livable. The living room did not have any a/c making it very difficult to socialize which is one of the main reasons for booking a VRBO house. Hoisting a suitcase up the large number of stairs to the second floor was a challenge. Although the internet service was good and NetFlix is nice - I would recommend adding Direct TV Now on Roku (which is now available) to that access to news and weather is available.

Quaint country stay

  • 4 of 5

The farmhouse is indeed a farmhouse, quite rustic and located in a picturesque setting. You feel the age of the house as soon as you enter and it is quite charming. The back patio was especially lovely in the mornings and late afternoons. I would say that the house comfortably sleeps two couples. The fifth guest would be on the non-pullout sofa. Everything else was as advertised, clean & easy! Great for a long weekend stay.

Charming Farmhouse (10 minute cab ride from downtown Healdsburg)

  • 4 of 5

The house is cute with a lot of charm, easy to get downtown and the beds are comfy. Simple and clean. Would defiantly book again.

Great to Relax

  • 5 of 5

I just wanted to say thank you for the use of your house. The accommodations were very nice and there was nothing we needed that wasn't there. The heat worked well which I always appreciate being a cold blooded soul.

We had a very nice time, maybe one of our best in Healdsburg in many years. We went to Chalkboard on Tuesday night and the meal was very nice, we went to Vallete on Wednesday night and if it wasn't the best meal we've ever eaten it was certainly in the class picture. The service, the courtesy and certainly the meals themselves were amazing. Last night we went to John Ash in north Santa Rosa and had a very nice Thanksgiving meal.

We went to Matrix and VML right together and bought pinot from both. Very good. We went to Dutton Goldfield a past favorite and rekindled our relationship with some of the best pinot we've tasted in some time. We also went to Pappapietry Perry as always and bought a full box of pinot from them so all in all we had to leave town while we had any money left.

We'll definitely be back!
