home was spacious and well appointed. beds were comfortable. could have used a coffee table in the seating area for the entire gang to sit around and play games at night (also, lights in main sitting area did not work at all). vistas were incredible. kitchen was fairly well stocked and as such we were able to make many meals 'at home' which was wonderful. all appliances worked well. the washing machine smelled incredibly musty/moldy and could have used a good cleaning. Not enough hangers in the closets for a full house of people but we bought and left them for the next guest.
Great Home in the water
Perfect from start to finish!
Best location and views on the island
We had an amazing time at this magnificent home! Everything was clean, plenty of seating, towels (even beach towels), all new kitchen appliances and well stocked with supplies. We enjoyed the pool day and night! Short walk to a nice poke bowl restaurant that was delicious. Away from the crowds of town. We all enjoyed the best sleep to the sound of the ocean. Would love to return and repeat it all!
Kailua-Kona vacation for 7
Two grandparents, two parents, a four-year old, a one-year old and an uncle went into a wonderfully open house on the ocean near Kailua-Kona and didn't want to leave. They were lucky to be at Lucky42.
Being an easy walking distance to the kids' beach made this location special for our grandkids. The pool at the house was an added plus, although the solar heater was not working while we were there.
The house easily accommodated our set of people. The upstairs master suite was perfect for the grandparents, the separate upstairs bedroom worked well for the uncle, the four-year old enjoyed the bunk bed tucked in on the first floor, and one of the first floor bedrooms had dark enough curtains so the one year old could nap/sleep easily with his parents close by in the other bedroom.
The large living room with fully openable doors brought in the delightful Hawaiian air and gave easy access to the pool (but required a vigilant eye on the one-year old crawler). The kitchen was well equipped with new appliances and the table big enough for our full group. We ate many meals there, also used the grill outside, but enjoyed the island's restaurants as well.
Would highly recommend this house for a family vacation.
A perfect ocean air retreat! Everything described & more.
Absolutely beautiful, clean & well equipped, this home was the perfect vacation retreat for our family. The nanowalls in the 3rd level master suite made it a tropical dream suite. Our adult kids loved having their own wing on the main floor. The pool was refreshing, the patio lovely for lounging as a family & reading while listening to the crashing waves.
My stay at this house introduced a new appreciation for exceptional craftsmanship, gardening, and art. The house was very well put together and felt like a true home. It was a hop, skip, and jump away from the airport making things a breeze. Each day we walked to town (walking distance to Kona Brewing:). On the way home we always walked a beautiful trail which was right on the water line. The owners of the house gave some incredible recommendations on restaurants (my favorite was Umeke's). When going their I highly suggest the Poke Bomb. Thank you for sharing this treasure.
