Family holiday in the Basque Country

This is a high quality property situated with many beautiful views of the ocean and town of Getaria. It is a short walk to the lovely village of Getaria, and a short drive or 30 min walk to the lively town of Zaurutz. Parking was a bit of an inconvenience, but the 9 of us with three cars managed. Mastering the method to get a ticket to park legally took us - and many others - some effort. We felt great after learning to manage after a few tries. 😉Others commented on the parking already. We are all in good shape, but note that getting in and out is a climb. And the road noise is present, but not bad. The host was very pleasant and we communicated through WhatsApp easily. WiFi was great. Kitchen was nice. We harvested lettuce and cucumbers from the garden! The nearby Balenciaga museum was great, and we enjoyed several restaurants in the old village and the clean BM grocery store up the hill. Our visit included time in San Sebastián, about 30 min away, and several magnificent hikes in nearby parks. One walk through a botanical garden and old mills, and another climb to a Borda near Atseuza. Really wonderful for those with the health and interest. Also a memorable evening at a cider house! We are very glad for the experience and the house was part of what made our holiday great.

Villa Embil is great

We had a great time at Villa Embil. It is a very charming house which works very well for larger groups. It is right at the beach in beautiful Getaria. Miguel is a great host, very responsive and generous. You should do inhouse cooking with his friend Montxo, great experience.

Fantastic Villa

We had a brilliant stay @ Villa Embil. The position was sensational overlooking Getaria harbour and so close to the delights of the Getaria fishing village. Of course the beach was a huge hit for our granddaughter Miguel was very obliging and very prompt with our enguiries The Villa itself is a lovely house with all amenities including our very own charcoal BBQ so we could cook like the locals Only small criticisms were WiFi slow and not much range,no bathroom on the top floor and perhaps when it get hot in July fly screens would be handy Villa Embil has our highest recommendation and we can't wait to return to the beautiful view and garden Thanks Miguel

We are a large family, and we get together in this house to enjoy its unbeatable surroundings.

Why they chose this property

This is our second home, and because of its size, our entire family fits in it.

During summer, we enjoy the terraces, the ocean view, the continuous flow of yachts and sailing boats, or we take care of the gardens and our small ecological orchard.

During winter, we enjoy the cosy environment provided by the fireplace in our living room, while we look at the power of the ocean waves through the large windows or relax with one of the many books from our library.

It offers a relaxing environment.
