New 3 bedroom 2 bath Beach House with Private Beach on the Chesapeake Bay
About Alicia Prevost
We love spending time on the water with our kids - swimming, kayaking, water skiing, paddle boarding, and just relaxing on the beach.
Alicia Prevost purchased this House in 2018
Why Alicia Prevost chose Point Lookout
We fell in love with Scotland, Maryland because of its quiet, beautiful beaches on the Chesapeake Bay and its close proximity to the Washington, DC area. The Carolina House is a pristine, private sanctuary just 2 hours from our home in Bethesda, Maryland.
What makes this House unique
The Carolina House has gorgeous views of the Chesapeake Bay, and its private beach is perfect for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, playing in the sand or just relaxing and reading.

Fabulous Thanksgiving Week-end in Gorgeous House
Great week-end in Scotland, MD. Owner was super easy to deal with in terms of booking, payment, and check-in. Always love when it's effective. The welcome bottle of wine and beers were just the icing on top.
The house is located near Point Lookout State Park, south of the Patuxent River Naval Air Station where Chesapeake and Potomac River meet. It is a newly built home with great views over the bay. Home has a super lay-out (first floor: open plan kitchen and living room; 2 bedrooms; 1 bathroom with tub; second floor: MBR; bathroom with shower) and a modern/industrial feel. Everything--from pots, pans, knives, cutlery, glasses to a good range of spices and cleaning supplies-- was there to cook and have a great Thanksgiving dinner with the family. Post-dinner and sunset views was had on the house's private walk-way to a small sandy beach across a secluded gravel road (track) separating the house from the shoreline. The home is somewhat isolated (residential neighborhood, not really near to any walk-able cafe/restaurants/shops), but is perfect if you want to decompress and relax.
Very nice. My wife loved the place. Good chance we come back for a week with the kids.
My family and I had a wonderful time!
We enjoyed this property so much in July that we returned in October to celebrate family birthdays. The property is very well-kept, stocked with everything you might need, and in a wonderful, quiet neighborhood. The private beach is wonderful. My previous review gives more details.
Charming and Picturesque
This is a wonderful and gorgeous home. The three bedrooms, and two full baths can comfortably accommodate a 6. The sofa pulls out and can accommodate another 2. The entire house is open to all sides with windows to provide a spectacular view of the entire area from the elevated home. Although, the house is not directly on the beach, the walkway to the beachfront is a nice personal and private "red carpet" to the bay. You will have more amenities than an all inclusive resort, with bicycles, paddle boat, kayaks, Adirondack chairs, fire pit, board games, grill, wifi, cable TV, and outdoor shower for when you get done with the beach. Alicia and Andrew are very gracious hosts and are very good with keeping in communication during your stay should anything go wrong or you are in need of anything. The home is also pet friendly, with prior notification to Alicia and Andrew, and our dog, Behr, loved it so much he passed out as soon as we returned home. The home is in a very beautifully decorated both inside and outside. We felt as though we were at home and not like a guest in someone's home.
An Amazing Stay at the Carolina House
We had a great time at the Carolina House. For those looking to unplug (with great wifi) this is the place. The views of the ocean and the walkway to the beach were lovely. And the use of the kayaks and paddle board were great for the adults and kids. There were also games and ample supplies in case you forget anything (suntan lotion, toiletries, beer :). There were several towns in the area (about a 20/30 min drive) Solomon Island, Smith Island, and Leonordtown. I can see myself visiting the Carlina House again.
