One bedroom suite on the beach with double pull-out couch and cot. Sleeps 5.
My husband John and I moved to Victoria in 1996 after living in Ontario and Alberta, and purchased our home in Cordova Bay in 2008. Our home has been a labour of love with extensive renovations over the years, including the suite now known as "A Laughing Otter Retreat". Living on the ocean is like being on holidays every day and we love sharing that experience with our guests. Before purchasing our home, we rented homes and cottages up island and on surrounding islands for years and appreciate the beauty and diversity of this beautiful place we live. We have 2 grown children that live in the area and we both work outside the home. we look forward to meeting and hosting people from all over the world well into retirement.
Jane purchased this Apartment in 2008
Why Jane chose Cordova Bay
Beach front, private, relaxing, beautiful views (sunrises, Mt. Baker, San Juan Islands), lots of wildlife (seals, otters, eagles, deer), but don't take our word for it. REVIEWS: Our suite has been operational through a management company since 2014. We have now taken it over and will be managing it personally in order to deal directly with our guests, a part of the process we are really looking forward to. What makes this Apartment unique
Our suite was inspired by the beautiful beachside location. It is equipped with everything you need to stay for 3 days or 3 months. Fully equipped kitchen, full size laundry, bedroom and living room with big screen TV. Heated tile floors. Cozy gas fireplace in the living room for those cool evenings or for a little ambience. Patio has a bistro table and chairs, outdoor couch and barbecue. Two adirondack chairs on the bank are the perfect place to watch the tides and the constant stream of wildlife. A perfect location to venture out from or to just stay and relax with a good book listening to the waves.

Hosts Jane and john were amazing. Kind friendly lovely! The suite was very comfortable, everything one could want was in there. Highly highly recommended thank you for a great week!
The space was the perfect little spot to relax.
Perfectly appointed and perperfectly situated
Our family of four plus our faithful pet had a lovely s stay. The suite is perfectly appointed ;the owners / caretakers have thought of everything in stocking the home so that you may enjoy your stay. The location has a lovely view. We enjoyed watching otters and harbor seals daily from the shore. The home is close to downtown Victoria as well. Plan on returning in the near future.
1 of a kind in the best way possible, Jane and John were more than pleasant we now call them friends
We have stayed in vacation rentals all over the world so I think we have a pretty good take on what makes a place good (or should I say great). First off they were understanding that due to a car issue we missed the morning ferry to the island and were not able to arrive until after 6:00pm and they were pleasant and accommodating. We have never been in a place that was better stocked without a need for any spices, toiletries, towels or linens. Everything was clean and ready for us. We hit the ground running thanks to them. We have already book next year for a month. Thanks Jane (John too)
