Better than we hoped for...

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 9 arrived late - about 9 p.m. and we were tired from traveling for 2 days from Ohio.

As soon as we unlocked the door and turned on the lights, we were thrilled by what we saw. Clean rooms that were different and inviting. It was almost like Christmas while opening gifts. Each of us picked a room that was perfect for us.

While were picking our rooms and making our beds with the clean linens waiting for us, Julie, our birthday girl, was making pasta in your cute kitchen that had everything we could possibly need. It has more than even our own kitchen. Nina and Peter thought of everything.

It was so nice to be able to open up a bottle of wine and have clean wine glasses in the cabinet. Two refrigerators was a treat and having a washer and dryer was a dream.

Other than our first night, we spent all our time dining outside on the porch which was huge. The adults were able to sit at the table while the children had plenty of room on the benches.

Walking 2 blocks to the beach was ideal. We loved that the beach was calm - which was perfect for our children, ages 4, 5 and 6.

Having an outdoor shower was great for the children who were caked with sand each day.

To be able to walk to town and everything we needed made life so much easier for us.

Nina and Peter were very responsive when the toilet handle broke and we appreciated it.

So our vacation at Narragansett Cottage was better than we had hoped for and we will definitely be back.

Wonderful stay in MV!

  • 4 of 5

My family goes to MV every June for a week and we have rented a few different houses over the years. This house ranks among the best we have stayed in. The house is very clean, spacious and well equipped. The rooms are all well decorated and the house itself is really nice. The location is great for walking to the beach or heading downtown to Circuit Ave. We had absolutely no issues at all.

The only real downsides to this house for my family was that the rental was the lack of air conditioning, we had to bring our own towels and sheets (with small kids the car is already packed) and the fact the rental was Sunday to Sunday (we prefer Saturday to Saturday). The TV in the living room is also very small which isn't a big deal when on vacation but again with small kids could be better.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this home!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your review, Melissa. We're glad to hear you enjoyed the house and found it clean & comfortable. Though we always regret when there are "downsides". . .they are really helpful to hear so we can work on them. Though I can completely appreciate that it would be great to offer AC and linens, most Oak Bluffs rentals don't offer them either, so its sort of "par for the course". Luckily, renting linens is a very convenient & affordable alternative to having to pack your own - especially when they can be delivered/picked-up. That's the first feedback we've gotten on the size of the TV in the living room. . .we'll definitely look into up-sizing!! Thanks! Please come again! Nina

Lovely house, perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We loved this house! It is exactly as it looks on photos: well maintained, charming, and large enough to sleep several families. The location was perfect. We could walk everywhere in Oak Bluffs (an awesome little town), and the bus station was an easy 5-minute walk, making the whole island accessible. Would definitely recommend to anyone heading to Martha's Vineyard.

Loved Narragansett Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Five friends stayed at the cottage to celebrate 60th birthdays. Going in September was a new experience for us. Even with the tail of a hurricane the place and season was perfect. Few tourist, little traffic and met more "Vineyarders". The house was inviting and clean. It immediately felt like home. As other reviewers have stated, the porch was our favorite (weather permitting). Would stay there again.

Narragansett 8/16-8/23

  • 5 of 5

The house was in tip top shape when we arrived. We love being able to walk a few steps to and from the beach followed by an outside shower (always the best!!!). Our week included Illumination Night, the Fair and Fireworks, plus rides on the Carrosel and shopping. This time we made the trip to Acquinnah for that beach for a change. All was great.

This is a great cozy home well within close walking to everything including the beach, shopping, restaurants and fun. Our family of 8 found it to be a great place to gather and enjoy each others company. The owner and communication are awesome, we look forward to another visit someday!
