We are 30 miles from Silver Lake and Lake Michigan beaches. Michigan Adventures is 35 miles from our resort. We are located in a wooded, quiet area with no neighbors. The beach is sandy bottomed. We have a swimming raft with a slide. A campfire pit is next to the lake. We have two cabins, the smaller one sleeps 4 and rents for $60 a night. Same amenities in that cabin. We also have a fifth wheel that sleeps 6. It rents for $300 a week or $60 for two or more nights.
Our 11 year old and 8 year old loved the sandy beach, water activities provided and the chance to explore the natural surroundings. This was a great place to unplug and just be together without electronics. We didn't bring anything but a few games (TONS are also provided), books and outdoor play items and our 2 days was perfect. We spent much of our time at the beach, in the water or relaxing outside our cabin. Before we left our kiddos were asking us to book again soon.
Our cabin was clean and well stocked with the essentials (plates, platters, coffee pot, toaster, pans, etc). My husband enjoyed the low key charcoal grill lifestyle for 2 days so we cooked outside for almost every meal.
Thank you Jim and Deb for opening up The Last Resort as a family fun place to visit.
My wife and I were looking for somewhere secluded and quiet to get away from city life. This was the perfect location! We stayed in the smaller cabin and it was just the cutest. It was clean and tidy. It has a comfy queen bed, kitchenette and nice bathroom. A nice living room too. The doors open in the front and back so you get a nice breeze. The view of the lake is beautiful. We spent our time using one of their 2 row boats to fish. Even our Chihuahua got out on the boat! We also had a campfire and used the provided charcoal grill to cook out. The owners are super friendly and made sure we were all set with everything we needed. If you are looking to get away from it all, this is the place to be. This is also great for kids. We don't have kids but we can see it is kid friendly. Lots of exploration and swimming for them! Also great if you have a furry friend you don't go anywhere without. We hope to come back many times in the future!
We had a wonderful stay in the park trailer while visiting the area for graduation parties and softball games. It was so great to come here after a long day...very relaxing and peaceful. Also was great that we could bring our dogs to enjoy the outdoors here. A really cool location off the beaten path. Deb and Jim were helpful and friendly. We will return for sure!!!
My family went 2 times last summer (2015), stayed in the 5th wheeler both times. Deb and Dave are awesome hosts. It's super clean, super casual and easy to find. The lake is warm and clean and Deb & Dave have all the amenities we needed for our getaway ( I overpacked) there are lifejackets, paddle boat, noodles, rowboat, kayak, oars, sand toys, bbq's, fire pits, picnic tables, outdoor lights, large grass areas for dogs, indoor fans, plates, pots & pans, parking, tent areas, tons of walking/ bike trails... It's also close to food stores and several other lakes. It's a super location, and I can't wait to go back. My family made some great friends, 2 legged, and 4 legged.
My husband and I rented the trailer for our anniversary weekend. It was cozy, clean, and nice, and had everything we needed to be comfortable-including heat and hot water, which was nice when it was chilly! We enjoyed using the row boat and fishing on the lake, surrounded by the fall-colored trees! There is also a gorgeous nature trail that we hiked on their property! The owners are super friendly and hospitable! They were there for anything we needed, and to answer all of our questions. Not only would we recommend this place, but we hope to return again!
Back to Basics in all the right ways!!!! HOSPITALITY x 10!!! My sister and I booked one of the cabins for a sister/dog getaway. The weather cooled off dramatically as soon as we landed, but the water in the lake was warm and the cabin was all we hoped it would be. An electric fireplace was in the bedroom as well as a space heater. (We ended up using the space heater in the corner to expedite drying towels and swimsuits). Bring a book and a portable DVD player for evenings. Run,hike, fish to your hearts content. Unplugg and unwind. Jim and Deb are probably the best hosts on the west side of the state and I can't wait to go back!!!
Close to Hesperia. Surrounded by National Forests. 30 miles from Silver Lake State Park and Michigan Adventure. We have a great nature trail accessible from the cabins. The trail is 1.5 miles long next to a pond, and leading through a field, pine forest and deciduous forest. Come see the natural beauty found in West Michigan.
Other Activities: Silver Lake State Park / Dunes is only 30 Miles away!
