About Jim & Deb Driza

We grew up in Muskegon Michigan and bought the resort when we were newly married. We raised our three children here on our quiet little lake in the country. We have three children and three Canadian grandchildren.

Jim & Deb Driza purchased this cabin in 1982

Why Jim & Deb Driza chose Walkerville

We bought the property because we fell in love with it. I was fresh out of college and had just taken my first job teaching. We had some interesting first years here.

What makes this cabin unique

We have a quiet, peaceful place with lots of outdoor benefits. A beautiful walking trail runs through the back forty acres. The beach is Sandy bottomed with a gradual decline for little ones and bigs ones too!

Perfect! Absolutely amazing!

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from our 2 day stay. We rented both cabins and the park trailer for a weekend family gathering. These were all clean, comfy and cozy. We enjoyed the privacy, the little beach area and the kayaks the most. In fact, now I have to buy one! Jim and Deb were very nice and accommodating! Everything we could have needed was provided (with the exception of food, towels and linens). Awesome stay! We are already looking forward to booking a trip next year! A huge thanks to Jim and Deb for helping us create some wonderful memories! Hopefully we didn't keep you up with our not so quiet and late campfires!

Great Cabin at a great location!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed during the week and had a wonderful time. The location is very peaceful and quiet. The one bedroom cabin was plenty of room for our family of four. The kids loved the beach and the lake. They are a about 25 minutes from great beaches at Lake Michigan as well.

Wonderful Weekend

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a great weekend stay at the Last Resort cabin. There is so much to do in the surrounding area and at the cabin itself. Jim and Deb were outstanding! Very accommodating. We would definitely stay there again and also recommend to others. Thanks Jim and Deb.

Wonderful getaway from it all!

  • 5 of 5

Our 11 year old and 8 year old loved the sandy beach, water activities provided and the chance to explore the natural surroundings. This was a great place to unplug and just be together without electronics. We didn't bring anything but a few games (TONS are also provided), books and outdoor play items and our 2 days was perfect. We spent much of our time at the beach, in the water or relaxing outside our cabin. Before we left our kiddos were asking us to book again soon.

Our cabin was clean and well stocked with the essentials (plates, platters, coffee pot, toaster, pans, etc). My husband enjoyed the low key charcoal grill lifestyle for 2 days so we cooked outside for almost every meal.

Thank you Jim and Deb for opening up The Last Resort as a family fun place to visit.

The perfect getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I were looking for somewhere secluded and quiet to get away from city life. This was the perfect location! We stayed in the smaller cabin and it was just the cutest. It was clean and tidy. It has a comfy queen bed, kitchenette and nice bathroom. A nice living room too. The doors open in the front and back so you get a nice breeze. The view of the lake is beautiful. We spent our time using one of their 2 row boats to fish. Even our Chihuahua got out on the boat! We also had a campfire and used the provided charcoal grill to cook out. The owners are super friendly and made sure we were all set with everything we needed. If you are looking to get away from it all, this is the place to be. This is also great for kids. We don't have kids but we can see it is kid friendly. Lots of exploration and swimming for them! Also great if you have a furry friend you don't go anywhere without. We hope to come back many times in the future!
