Wonderful Florence vacation rental
My daughter and I spent 8 nights at Emma's apartment on Via dei Neri and absolutely loved the apartment. All the rooms were large and well furnished. We had a washing machine and a dishwasher, comfortable beds, good size refrigerator (with a small freezer). Emma's husband kindly let us into the apartment early on the day we arrived and greeted us with a "welcome" bottle of wine. The apartment is in a great area, right behind the Uffizzi, close to Santa Croce, the Ponte Vecchio, and on the same block as a great gelateria. Street noise is everywhere in Florence but my daughter had a white noise app on her smart phone and we had no problem sleeping. I highly recommend Emma's apartment and look forward to a return stay.
The location is just perfect for serious exploration of the marvels of Firenze. The apartment offers all you could ask and a spectacularly painted ceiling keeping with the centuries old building. Emma was a joy to work with ! Will definitely return. This is exactly why I choose HomeAway properties, for unique, authentic experiences.
We stayed in Emma's apartment for 5 nights.
The apartment is very well located, comfortable and clean. You can walk to all the major and minor sites in minutes. Emma is a great host, giving details of great eateries and bars and was quick to respond to any queries.
We would stay here again.
Terrific location, but on a noisy street
This quaint apartment is located on the third floor of a beautiful stone-covered building — with impressive street-front doors — halfway down a busy street connecting the Piazza della Signoria (Uffizi and Palazzo Vecchio) and the Basilica di Santa Croce. It's also located on a street with a popular sandwich shop (All'Antico Vinaio), good restaurants and cafes, and a highly-rated gelateria. So in terms of location, it really could not be better. We absolutely loved the convenience of being so close to everything!
However, due to it's ideal location, there was, as a result, a significant amount of street noise late into the evening — not the fault of the apartment or its host, of course, just a fact of the property. If you plan to open the windows, which I would not recommend due to mosquitoes, you will hear lots of chatter, laughter, bottles clinking, and the occasional drunken argument, well into midnight. But if you keep the windows shut tight and turn on the air-conditioning, as we did, you should be fairly well insulated from most of the noise.
The apartment itself was clean and well appointed. The wifi worked great and the air-conditioning was a lifesaver. We didn't really use the kitchen, but I did enjoy the stovetop espresso maker. Note that while there is a washer in the apartment, there is no dryer; you will need to hang dry all of your laundry. And maybe it's just me, but I found the bed linens to be a bit on the rough side. More pillows would have been nice too.
Although we never actually met our host, Emma, her friend Alessandra did a satisfactory job helping us into the apartment and showing us around. I was, however, impressed with Emma's quick response to an issue we had with the apartment. I messaged her in the morning, and her husband had it taken care of by the time we returned later in the afternoon.
We stayed in this lovely apartment for a week and really enjoyed it. It is large and very clean. The location is wonderful. The street is very lively and has lots of restaurants right out the door.
the major sights are a short walk in any direction. You will feel very secure here which we appreciated. The elevator was great. Emma was very responsive to all of our requests. Don't hesitate to book this apartment.
Great property and location
Emma has a well appointed apartment in a great location. She provided good information about the city and assisted with a cab for an early morning flight. Would definitely rent again
