Amazing location! Excellent hosts!
Our stay at Mainely Home was perfect! So relaxing; quiet and secluded! The home was on prime real estate, right on the water; we saw tons of wildlife. Tony and Dottie were gracious hosts and the home had everything we needed! We couldn’t have picked a better place!
place is exactly as advertised; owner was very friendly and helpful; we will be back
A gem on the bay
The home was what I envisioned from the photos and more. The grounds were well maintained with plenty of options. I could sit and enjoy the deck, the screened porch or the back yard. Secluded is a key word here. The property is private and with your own beach front. Tony is a gentleman and is available if help is needed.
Beautiful luxury log cabin on the ocean
We were delighted with our stay at Maine-ly home! The cabin is gorgeous, beautifully crafted, with all the essential amenities for a relaxing get-away-from-it-all experience in rural Maine. It was right on the ocean with a little stair decent onto a rocky beach that extended for quite a while during low tide. We especially loved the outdoor deck and additional screened in porch. The lighthouse and nautical decor was also a special treat throughout the home! Wildlife spotting was abundant, including bald eagles in the back yard! Tony met us right as we arrived, and was close by in case anything was needed. The town of Lubec and also West Quoddy Head Light and state park are both a short drive (15-20 min). It's also easy to cross over to Canada (Campobello Island) from Lubec. Thank you so much for a wonderful get-away that exceeded our expectations!
Fantastic place, everything for your vacation.
This will be our 6th year in the Mainely Home cabin. You need to bring only your toothbrush ,everything else is provided. Its 30ft deck provides a restful place to relax and enjoy the view. The children have hours of fun exploring the beach finding shells and sea glass.
Lubec is about as 'Down East' as you can get. It is the easternmost town in the U.S. and home to the West Quoddy Head Lighthouse. Whales, porpoises, eagles, osprey, moose and bear inhabit the region. Beach roses, wild iris, and beach peas line the pristine shoreline. In Lubec you will find sandy beaches (a rarity this far Down East), bold coastal cliffs, and wildflower meadows. The Lubec area is host to three state parks, four lighthouses, a national wildlife refuge, and several nature preserves, all of which offer a variety of well-maintained hiking trails. Local whale, wildlife, and puffin tours offer the chance to observe nature up close from the water, as do local kayak and canoe rental facilities and many public boat ramps. There is a golf course and fresh water swimming near by. You'll find it all here: rich history, spectacular scenery, abundant wildlife, and friendly people. You won't find pollution, crowds, traffic jams, or glitzy souvenir shops. Other Activities: Whale watch, puffin tour, sailboat excursion, history tours, lighthouses.
May through October: $1,100 per week, plus tax. Pets considered; limited to one small to mid size dog. Prior approval needed.
