Overview

About the property

2 BR, Loft, 2 BA, sleeps 8-10

The name of our cabin says it all 'Anglers Hideaway'. Purchased and managed by two college buddies who have been fly fishing together over fifteen years, this property is the perfect place to get away from it all and do some fishing. Located on the beautiful Hiwassee River in southeastern Tennessee, this cabin is close to all the action. Twenty minutes south and you can be rafting on the Ocoee River. Thirty minutes north you can fish the famous Tellico river in Tellico Plains, TN. Or you can just stay on the Hiwassee River while rafting and fishing! Whatever your daily activities entail, you can rely on one thing; the evening at the cabin will be unforgettable. Enjoy relaxing in a rocking chair on the porch, or plan a cookout using the grill. Inside you will find a full kitchen, laundry room, dining room, large loft area upstairs, and a comfortable living room for relaxing inside. Check out our pictures and come see our Hideaway.

Rafting: We have information on rafting the world class Ocoee River which is only minutes away from the cabin. We also have information on rafting the Hiwassee River which is where the cabin is located. You will find class 5 rapids on the Ocoee while the Hiwassee is a class 2.

Trout Fishing: Fish the Hiwassee River. Several miles of trout fishing, guides are available with the Hiwassee Outfitters. Or fish the Tellico River just minutes up the road in Tellico Plains.

Sight Seeing: Motorcycles are welcome and encouraged to come and enjoy the beautiful scenery around the Cherokee National Forest. There is a winery on Hwy 411 and a many areas for a Sunday drive for the leaves of the fall.

Fantastic Scenery

  • 5 of 5

It's a great place. The road back to the cabin is a little sketchy and the beds could probably stand to be upgraded, but other than that, the place is fantastic. There aren't any neighbors close by, and you can't hear road noise which enables the babbling creek to provide a wonderful soundtrack. The house is spacious and comfortable. The check-in/check-out processes were easy; the whole experience was wonderful!

Best rental ever! Not too fancy...Very Homey!!! Super Comfortable...

I would recommend the Angler's Hideaway to anyone who wants to spend some time in the most beautiful area of Tennessee. We just had our Bigfoot Family Reunion here and everything was picture perfect. Furthermore, the folks in reliance are wonderfully down to earth and have a way of making you feel at home. Be sure to stop by the Webb Brothers general store and say hey to Ava and Harold. But don't forget to eat at Flip Flop's, just across the river. They have great burgers, and I am a burger connoisseur, plus some awesome entertainment on Saturday evenings. This was one of the best weekends I've had in years.

Beautiful area. Peaceful in winter!

  • 4 of 5

Visited in late December. It was quiet and secluded and we enjoyed the get away with our children and grandson. We had some minor issues with water pressure. Not sure if it would be as quiet during summer because of proximity to Hiwassee outfitters. Cabin is well equipped with linens and kitchen stuff. Thank you!

Great place for a quiet getaway!

We decided to celebrate Christmas away from home this year. This place was perfect! Plenty of space inside and out for all our guests. We are definitely planning to come here again in the spring.

Reliance is in the Cherokee National Forest. The area has world class rafting at the Ocoee and world class fly fishing on the Hiwassee River (where cabin is located), and Telico River. There is a winery about twenty minutes away, and a scenic drive on the Cherohala parkway, great for site seeing in the fall and taking motorcycle trips year around. The woods are thick, rivers are wide, and the roads are curvy, just what you're looking for...

Other Activities: Rafting.
