Overview

About the property

Sleeps 12 in Spacious Comfort With Sun Terrace and Views

A charming waterfront, arts and crafts house with bags of character and spacious, comfortable rooms. Oonavara is within moments of the shops and local amenities and has direct access to the beach. With a large sun terrace and sun lounge both facing the sea it has uninterrupted panoramic views from the Llyn Peninsula to Rhoscolyn and on to Holyhead mountain with nothing but sea and the islands and bay of Rhosneigr in between. The word most used in the visitors book is 'amazing'. both in terms of the views and the house itself. To read more testimonials and see some great photographs of the view visit our website www.oonavara-rhosneigr.co.uk.

It is so entertaining to watch the sea there really is no need for a TV but just in case, Ooonavara has a TV room for watching DVDs, sitting room with open log fire (coal and wood included in the price), dining room, games room with table football, pool table, jig saws, library, a second log fire and a well equipped kitchen with more beautiful views, all the mod cons and an aga for those 'occasional' less than perfect days!

Designer fabrics have been used throughout to enhance the existing arts and crafts interior complemented by parquet, rugs and flag flooring on the ground floor and carpeting in the bedrooms upstairs.

Downstairs there is a wet room, perfect for coming straight off the beach and upstairs a large bathroom with ample hot water, the whole house has very efficient central heating. All bedrooms have a view of the sea but one which looks out over the walled garden which has mature shrubs and lawn and is sheltered and secluded.

There is a parking area within the walled garden and in the private cul de sac outside. Beach towels, bed linen, napkins, tea towels etc, coal and logs and a clean before and after your stay are included in the cost.

Rhosneigr is a great village for good food, good walks and bucket and spade holidays as well as water sports and a base for venturing further afield. Oonavara has hosted many family celebrations: 40th, 50th, 70th, 80th birthday parties.

About Desdemona Freeman

We are a family of 5 who spend lots of time at Oonavara enjoying the local seafood, restaurants and beach life. Jonathan's family have been coming to Rhosneigr since he was a baby and it holds a special place in all our hearts. Apologies for the lack of pictures of the view they are coming shortly but I do recommend you look at our website www.oonavara-rhosneigr.com which has lots of pictures.

Why Desdemona Freeman chose Anglesey

I think this quote from one of our visitors just about sums it up 'Oonavara has nothing missing; the house embraces you as a home, the flow of the house allows for all ages to relax or celebrate together, with a constantly changing panoramic view and beautiful sunsets- thank you very much for sharing your beautiful home & making it a welcoming holiday”

What makes this house unique

We love Oonavara because it is so spacious and has the best ever-chaging views of the sea and the little islands that make Rhosneigr so special whatever the weather. In the winter it's snug with log fires and games to play including snooker and table football and in the summer it has a large terrace and a lovely grassy walled garden. We have intentionally made it comfortable and homely and are happy to share it with visitors who often come for some sort of celebration!

We were in Anglesey for a friends wedding and Oonavara was perfect. Close to the venue and a super lovely place to hang out. Thank you.

Our 6th time of staying at Oonavara, and feels like home from home. It is a great house in a superb location. Hope we can come again!

Simply perfect! A stunning house in a breathtaking location. I wouldn't add or change anything!

  • 5 of 5

As soon as we saw the view at Oonavara we knew we'd chosen the perfect place to celebrate a special 70th birthday...then we opened the big arched door - and ran around the house like excited children (I am 45!). Simply beautiful. The house is stylish, but makes you feel at home immediately - it has a cooks kitchen and as a family we love food.

The house has everything you could need, but it's true pleasure is the simple things it provides. A glass of wine on the veranda enjoying the incredible view, beating your aunt and uncle at pool, scrambling across the rocks, looking for crabs while waving to your family on the patio, walking along the beech - spending quality time with the people you love!

There was 13 of us, aged from 6 to 70 and I can say with confidence that every single one of us had the most magical time. It was So good I'm going to make a book using the photographs we all took as a keepsake. I hope we get the opportunity to return - but maybe for a week next time...

The perfect place for a family weekend away

  • 5 of 5

We love Oonavara, it's a beautiful house in a stunning location. Everything we could need is provided and with the beach just steps away, the older members of our family were able to sit on the terrace watching the younger ones rock pooling or playing games.

Oonavara feels like our second home! Thank you for another wonderful weekend away.

Family weekend break

  • 5 of 5

The house was lovely! Our group was ages from 23 to 65. There is a pool table and fotball game table both were enjoyed by all ages!

The kitchen was well stocked with crockery, cutlery and pans.

It was handy for restaurants and also the glan neigr b&b who made us very welcome in the bar as did Sullivan's where we went to celebrate the 65th birthday.

The only thing that could improved on was the wet room, maybe a couple of grab rails could be put in the shower area as the floor became very slippy.

But overall a fabulous house and we would recommend it to our friends.
