Just as it appears - cozy and lovely cottage.

Excellent communication and lots of helpful information about the surrounding area. Sitting outside enjoying our tea we were delighted to see a cardinal. Favorite memory was opening the skylights and hearing a gorgeous range of birdsongs.

Adorable and Amazing

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic location! This is a very well maintained, upgraded adorable cottage! It is in a great location and the owners are very helpful leaving a binder of information about things within the area to do and see! We were here for our mini-moon and plan to return again in the future! It was relaxing and simply perfect! We loved it!!!

Plum Cove Cottage

  • 5 of 5

My wife is from Cape Ann and we were visiting family and decided we needed our own place. The whole experience was just awesome! The location is a very short walk to Plum Cove that has a nice and usually uncrowded beach. The cottage is set-up beautifully for two with a whole downstairs for a kitchen, bath and living area. Upstairs is the bedroom loft that has a pretty comfortable queen sized bed and a sweet view of the ocean. I really liked the motorized roof shades both for ventilation and sun shade. You can open up all the windows at night for a really pleasant breeze. The outside patio is nicely outfitted for barbecues and just hanging out. The whole yard has a very Zen feel to it with the nice water feature.

The only suggestions I have is a new toaster and DVD player (maybe replace w a Blue Ray, pretty cheap these days). Also I have never had to be responsible for making sure the garbage and recycling is at the curbside by 7AM or having to buy the required garbage bag.

But all-in-all minor matters compared with the enjoyment we had.

Lovely little home away from home.

  • 4 of 5

The photos do it absolute justice. We loved our week long stay in this little piece of heaven. The attention to detail involved in the cottage is impressive. The front porch area is a great place to spend the early morning watching the fish in the little pond. The plum cove beach area is about a 5 minute walk down the street. The little parking garage is a bit tricky to get in to, and be sure there is purple trash bags on your stay. The city wont pick up trash unless you use the city sanctioned bags. We had to go buy our own but the local convenience store has them. The shower was amazing and the whole house integrated sound system was a nice feature also. The wifi was a bit spotty it seemed to come and go. On our visit we checked out the lighthouse area around the breakers, went on the 7 sea's whale watch, ate plenty of clams, cooked our own lobsters (there is a big boiling pot included), drove around the entire cape, checked out Salem, visited Cape Pond Ice, saw the Hammond Castle and went to the Ryan & Wood distillery. There is so much to see and do in the area, that a week is not enough time to see all the sites. I would highly recommend a stay at this little cottage its perfect for a couple visiting the area.

Romantic

This was our second year staying here and we love the place. Its peaceful and quiet, just a short walk to a nice private beach. Wild turkeys come through every morning while I drank my coffee & read my book. This is our child free getaway & we look forward to going again!

On historic Cape Ann, Gloucester is only one hour by train or car from Boston and is one of New England's best-kept summer vacation secrets. Made famous in the movie 'The Perfect Storm,' Gloucester has a rich maritime history and is the oldest working seaport and active artist colony in the United States. From early settlers to Hollywood filmmakers, the beauty of Cape Ann has drawn people from around the world. Gloucester's historic fishing port, Rockport's famous art galleries, the unique antique shops of Essex, and the old, New England charm of Manchester-by-the-Sea, make Cape Ann the perfect vacation destination.
