Welcome to "St. Geneva"! I call it that because of the home's ideal location between 2 gorgeous and quaint towns-St. Charles and Geneva. Between the two towns there's plenty of shopping and night life to be had. The home is located along The Fox River. Just cross the street you can access miles of biking/walking trails. Feel free to take 2 kayaks over to the launch just a couple blocks away. Walk to the farmer’s market for fresh food to prepare in the fully equipped kitchen.
I'm currently occupying the upstairs unit, so the common areas are the sun room, utility room (washer and dryer), courtyard with tables and chairs, a grill, and the sitting garden (spring/summer). For chilly weather there is a gas operated fire pit. Sit around the fire on a cool night with your favorite beverage for a chat or roast marshmallows without smelling like a forest fire! There is Directv, Netflix, Amazon Video, PS3, and WiFi access. In addition, there are good old fashioned cards and board games. Games and toys for children also. Take advantage of the spacious yard for lawn games, which are also provided.
The neighborhood is mature with lots of large trees and beautiful parks. At the back is the Fox River with a street between the house and river and just to the south is a park that at one time was a Civil War training camp. The neighbor to my north is very quiet.
Some of Arcada Theater general acts this year include: tribute bands, comedians, oldies bands, and murder mystery dinners. Particular artists include: Jon Anderson, Lou Gramm, Ben Vereen, and Rob Schneider.
Shopping and dining are awesome both in Geneva and St. Charles. Fests and fairs are a large part of both towns.
If you love live theatre, then Steel Beam Theatre is a must.
The property is 10 minutes form Lamplight Equestrian Center, 7 minutes from The Q Center. The train station in Geneva will take you to downtown Chicago.
Guests who are a little tech savvy will be invited, via text message, to download an app that will allow them access through the sun room to their secure door where they will have a key for the deadbolt. Mostly I will be around to greet guests when they first arrive.
Some up coming events:
Starting mid January, there will be free performances from a variety of accomplished musicians from classical to jazz to contemporary. It all takes place on various Sunday afternoons in the St Charles Library.
