Beautiful lake cottage in the heart of Nicolet Forest. This property is on 200 feet of sandy frontage on a 1.5 acre private lot. Clear water lake, great for swimming and water sports. One of the most sought after lakes to stay on in the Nicolet forest area.
Motorized boats are allowed, and there is no speed limit from 10am-4pm. Private dock allows for tying up of boats and even pontoon planes if you plan on flying in.
There is not a beach, but once you are in the water off of the shore, you can walk out for about 30 feet on the smooth, sandy bottom and still be in only 3 feet of water.
Within walking distance around the cottage, there is approximately 150 miles of wilderness trails. These trails are conditioned for anything from walking, to riding ATV's or mountain bikes.

This is our second year and it was another great time. The beach and pier are wonderful to spend the day/eve around. The kitchen has been redone and looks great. Our dog was so excited to return he started whining as we pulled into the drive - then ran straight into the water where he could be found when outside. It is so peaceful and private which is very relaxing. We met a nice neighbor that gave us fishing tips - maybe next year we'll catch the big one!
There was a cancellation and I was lucky enough to contact Scott quick enough to reserve a couple of days at his cabin. My fiance and our two kids really enjoyed our stay. My family owned a cabin on Maiden Lake until 2002 and this was my first time being back since. It doesn't get any better than this, folks! Once you see this lake, no other can compare. We spent most of our days swimming, even when it was only 65 degrees yesterday. We rowed the boat into the middle of the like to see my old cabin, and got right next to a family of loons. Utilized the grill and the fire pit. Had a great time! The cottage itself is clean and cozy. Definitely recommend.
My husband and I stayed here for about a week with our black lab - all three of us enjoyed ourselves. The accommodations were adequate and met our needs - only two recommendations: the DVD player needs a remote and the double bed is sagging in the middle - replacement time ;) There was plenty of room for us and we enjoyed some peaceful evenings inside. The real star of this rental is the outdoor space - dock, boat, beach, grill, fire pit - all private. The setting was perfect! We enjoyed the outdoor space most of the days (only one uncooperative weather day). We went out on the lake a few days and it is really beautiful. Scott was great to work with and met us on our first day to give us a tour and information about the cabin, lake and area. There is a grocery store and plenty of restaurants near by. We will be back!
We have been renting this cabin for the last 4 years with my sister. I did not get to go last year and missed it so much. The cabin is always clean and very homey. We are going again this coming July and I am counting the days!! Love the fires at night, sitting on the dock during the day, shopping in town and dining out.
As you may have noticed... this is my second review. We came back again in Summer 2011 & already have 2012 reserved. Scott is dependable & there is never a glitch in the planning of renting his cottage. We spent most of the week around the fire pit, as it was cool on Labor Day weekend. We went for nice walks. Saw several loons. This year we went to the Maiden Lake Supper Club....FANTASTIC! Don't miss that opportunity if you go to Maiden Lake. Thank you, Scott, for providing the cottage & lake for another wonderful vacation. See you next year!
My women friends & I have stayed at this cottage for the last 3 summers. It is beautiful here. The lake is so clean & clear. We would get up in the morning and drink our coffee on the dock, watching the fishermen drift by in their boats and listen to the loons carry on as they do. Then, we'd go put on our swimsuits and spend the rest of the day on the dock.... catching a little sun, canoeing and a quick nap. Before you know it, it's dinner time & we cooked out on the grill every night. We'd end the evening sitting by the firepit, drinking a little wine & chatting.
This place is heaven. The cottage itself is nice. It's always been very clean. We have had no complaints. But, I have to be honest & say that what we like about this place is the dock, the lake, the sandy area where the fire pit is. We go to this cottage not for the cottage but for the surrounding beauty that the cottage is in.
Scott has been very gracious & allowed me to bring me dog. She has the time of her life... she loves "fishing" in the shallow water. We go for long walks & explore. The neighbors are very nice and they even joined us for dinner one night last summer.
