Moltrasio is a vertical country and the house is in the upper part of the country. The lake can also be reached by walking along a staircase.
Let's note that the walking path can be long and tiring for those who are not used to walking. It takes 15/20 minutes from the house to the lake. For return (uphill) at least 30 minutes.
Apartment recently renovated in a typical lake house. It can accommodate up to 4 people. It has private garden and wifi internet connection. It is possible to rent car park for one auto at 5 Euro/day to be paid cash at arrival.
It is made up of one large local ca. 40 sqm. with mezzanine, where the double bed is located. About Manuela Pessani
My name is Manuela, my husband Donato and I, love Como Lake. In 2007 we bought this old house, to which we are very fond of, and with love and respect we have renovated it.This house has so much story to tell. It was built at the beginning of 1900 as a barn, and over the years has become home. We have it furnished with care, following our tastes and also using objects that have a story to tell and sweet memories.
Manuela Pessani purchased this Apartment in 2007

Manuela and her husband Donato are wonderful hosts. She has every bit of info and tips you may need about the area and is very accomodating regarding times and ease of checkout. Her husband even drove us into town on the Friday night when we arrived too late for Taxis. The house was cozy and had everything needed for a nice stay. We hope to come back one day soon!
Thank you dear E. You are always welcome:-)
This cozy house has everything to make your vacation a great one! The owner was wonderful dealing with!! I would differently rent this house again and suggest to my friends if going to Lake Como for a vacation!
Thank you very much, you are great people and always welcome! Hope to see you again. Ciao Manuela
Misleading descriptions in a decent place
The house itself is fine, comparable to a 3-star basic hotel, except without AC - which can be problematic once the afternoon temps reach the upper 80's. Beyond the heat in the house, my frustrations came because the description isn't entirely forthright. I'll give a few examples:
" just minutes from the lake" - you're about a 15 minute walk down and a 20+ minute walk back up. For Moltrasio, this is about as far as one can get from the lake. So a trip to the lake consists of about 35-45 minutes of walking. I think the descriptor here is misleading. This is particularly taxing with small children. They will not like the walk back up.
"the height difference [to the lake] is about 100 meters". The house is much further, as evidenced by my above comment. The hike is steep and long on uneven steps and ramps.
"private garden is available" - the garden is not next to the house and is up the stairs about 1/2 block away. It's up next to the road bordering a parking lot and isn't particularly quiet. We specifically booked this place because of the garden. We thought it would be nice to let our baby sleep in the flat while we relaxed in the garden. This isn't possible because of how far away the garden is.
Accommodating four people would be a very big stretch in a flat this size, I wouldn't recommend it.
Moltrassio is a very sleepy little town with little to do. There are no pastry shops, gelato, only a couple hotel restaurants, and no beach (the beach is a paved dock which charges about 10 Euro to access).
Dear guest, we are very sorry that the stay was so unpleasant. I realize that traveling with a small child can be tiring.
The announcement clearly shows that the road to the lake can be tiring for those who have difficulty walking because the house is in the upper part of the country.
The air conditioning is not included in the description, but the house is equipped with two ceiling fans, one over the double bed and one in the living room above the table.
Moltrasio is a quiet country, there are at least seven restaurants, a bistro and some bars. Unfortunately the beach is on payment, during the week costs 5 euros, on Saturday and Sunday it costs 10 euros. We offer a 5% discount for our guests, both for the beach and for all other sports activities.
For all the other remarks I leave the answer to all the positive reviews we have received in these years.
With best regards
relaxing and enjoyable
Our stay in this delightful accommodation was lovely. It is comfortable very clean and has everything you will need for an enjoyable break. The garden is an added bonus and great to sit in.
A beautiful home in northern Italy
Thank you Manuela for your hospitality and advice. The house and location exceeded my expectations. I hope to be able to visit again. Ciao!!
Dear Carey I really would like to host you again, you and Margaret are very nice and kind people. Thank you Manuela and Donato
My family and I stayed in Manuela's lovely place, and I can't sing her praises enough. It truly felt like an oasis, and I often pretended that I'd left all the madness of my real life behind, and this was my new home... First of all, it's so quiet and peaceful. When I opened the windows, I heard nothing but birds chirping and the waterfall (that we had a view of). A lovely garden with tomatoes and peppers provided a beautiful salad daily, as well as a perfect place for an afternoon nap. We didn't have a car, so the walk up and down the steps to the water got us in great shape! Manuela was so helpful every step of the way; from our very first inquiry to helping us navigate the bus system back to Milan. She was an absolute joy. Don't hesitate to stay in this spotless and charming home. I'm already looking forward to coming back next year!
Dear Jackie, thank you very much for your nice review! You and your family are always welcome. I hope to see you again. Have a nice life in California!
With love Manuela and Donato
Moltrasio, picturesque village, famous tourist center of Lake Como, is lying on the western shore of the lake and clinging to the slopes of Mount Bisbino. On the slopes of the latter stood several quarries from which was extracted a building stone of gray-blue known and used throughout the area .From the fractions you can hike onto the trails that offer the opportunity to admire and enjoy the splendid views coolness of the forest Among the beauties of the country, Villa Passalacqua built at the behest of the Odescalchi family towards the end of '700, surrounded by a beautiful garden with terraces supported by vaults and walls and a nineteenth-century chapel with medieval sculptures. Also worth visiting is the beautiful church of San Martino, situated in the hamlet Borgo, in a dominant position, built on a previous Romanesque building. From Moltrasio you can easily reach the famous lakeside towns of Treemezzo with the splendid Villa Carlotta, Cernobbio, Menaggio and Bellagio or the most popular Como. Thanks to a well organized ferry service, you can make beautiful trips across the lake, enjoying unparalleled views of landscape.
