About Cynthia Walston

I live in Salisbury, Maryland and have one son, Tyler (28), Environmental Planner with Wicomico County. I have traveled throughout the United States, Virgin Islands, Canada, Israel and Jordan. Growing up my family alway spent summers enjoying Assateague Island and its beauty. I fall in love with Chincoteague every time I am there. In the photo above (taken June 2016) I am enjoying a relaxing afternoon on the balcony of my condo unit #219 at Sunset Bay Villas. I will personally meet you at the condo with advise on attractions, restaurants and give you a tour of the facility. I promise to do my best in making your vacation the best!

Why Cynthia Walston chose Eastern Shore Virginia

This unit (#219) and stack (above and below units) are the only units that will offer you privacy from other units and water views from all rooms. Chincoteague is a very quaint fishing town. There are a variety of activities for couples and families to enjoy; from fishing, nature boat cruising, charter boat tours, jet skiing, miniture golf, bike rentals, kayaking and so much more. There are several artisian shops within walking distance from the condo with unique pieces. The local folks are the kindest people. The beaches are clean and beautiful. The Chincoteague Ponies and other wildlife are lovely - nature at its best. You will enjoy sunrise and sunsets from this condo as it is a corner, end unit.

What makes this condo unique

Many guests comment on how this unit compares to no others here-location, location, location. There are views of Wallops Island, Rocket launch pad and water, water and more water from this condo. It is like being on a house boat. The wrap around balcony gives a panaramic view and complete privacy from other units! The pool and gym is just steps from this unit! Bird Watchers and Nature Lovers will love these views!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Absolutely stunning views!

  • 5 of 5

The pictures do not do the views of this condo justice. I could have stayed inside all day and just stared out the huge windows! It seemed as if the condo was floating on the water. Absolutely fantastic! We got there just a day before hurricane Hermine. The first two nights we were there were very peaceful and calm with the most astounding sunsets I have ever seen! We played in the ocean all day on Friday and walked over to the restaurant next door that evening for dinner. We enjoyed the incredible views and music. On Saturday the winds were extremely high and the tide came clear up to the edge of the road that goes across the bay. They closed the beach that day, which is understandable. It rained and rained. We didn't mind staying in because the views were so amazing and fun to watch the weather from. We played games, cooked, watched TV, read, napped, etc. On Sunday, the sun came out! They opened the beach later on that day and we walked up and down the beach watching the enormous surf. It was windy but nothing like the day before. It was sunny and nice. We took a boat ride Sunday afternoon and absolutely loved the beautiful scenery.

Cynthia was very easy to work with, fast to answer any communication. I had forgotten some items when we left and she mailed them to me. I would recommend this condo. By the way, the rooms are more spacious than they look from the pictures. It was perfect!

Amazing views!

  • 5 of 5

Amazing views! Lie in bed and watch the boats come through. Sit on the deck and listen to the live bands from the restaurant next door. Conveniently located near pool and elevator. Owner was very friendly and easy to work with. Had a great time! Will definitely be back.

Great views, Delighteful condo

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Cynthia's waterfront condo with our 3 children for 9 days and it was wonderful. The views are spectacular, and the condo is light and bright. The pictures don't do it justice. It is walking distance to shopping, restaurants, ice cream, fishing, the movie theater, and more. A master bedroom/bathroom and two nice size bedrooms with one more bathroom accommodated us nicely. The beds are comfortable! The kitchen has plenty of utensils. We cooked dinner a lot in the condo - fish we caught or bought, clams from the Farmer's Market, and we had no problems. Cynthia was totally responsive to our many questions upon arrival, and was very helpful with suggestions about where to go and what to do. We would stay there again!

Exactly as described

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing weekend stay in Chincoteague. The property was exactly as described. It was clean and the perfect size for 5 adults. The view was beautiful and unexpectedly quiet. Thanks to literature left by Cynthia and past guest recommendations we were able to hit many local hot spots. Our first day in town we rented kayaks (without any problems) and kayaked to the island to see the horses. We ate dinner at the Jackspot, it was okay and within walking distance of the condo. On day two we were welcomed with open arms at the Christ United Methodist Church. It rained a good bit in the early afternoon so we lingered around the condo and drank coffee on the balcony while waving at the passing boats. Once the rain cleared up, we rented bicycles from the gift shop/bike rental store very near the condo. Mrs. Bernstein was very kind and gave us great accommodations for the rentals. The 5 of us rode around Chincoteague and to the Wildlife Refuge, we biked around the loop, to the beach, and to the light house. The ride was nice and comfortable, the landscape flat and enjoyable. All of the traffic was very patient and respectful of the bikes. We stopped by Bills for dinner and perfectly enough they had a cancellation so we were able to be served. (The food and service were amazing, reservations are a must). After dinner, a couple of us rode bikes to the Island Creamery and waited in a very long line for the best ice cream I have ever tasted. It was a slow moving line, but we were expecting it so it wasn't unpleasant. Our third day was our check out day. We washed laundry per the agreement and Cynthia checked with us to make sure everything was going well (just as she did on our check in day to remind us to bring consumables like soap, shampoo and toilet paper). After checking out and meeting Cynthia we shopped in some of the local and very unique gift shops along the street. We walked around the docks and enjoyed the scenery. - the 5 from Ohio

Quite Dissappointing

  • 2 of 5

My wife and I went here for Valentine's Day for a 4 day weekend

getaway. The place was clean and had great views. However, there were

no supplies, apparently it is on the "honor" system we were told by the

owner, whatever that meant as the owner was the previous tenant the

week prior and left virtually nothing. She did tell us where to go to buy supplies.

There was only a 1/4 roll of

toiliet paper in each bathroom and the same with the paper towels.

There was NO dishsoap or detergent. We were highly dissappointed having

arrived and not knowing this ahead of time as we would have brought

what we needed. We couldn't wash the dishes the first night and had to

go out first thing in the morning to purchase paper towels, toilet

paper, dish soap and detergent as we were responsible for cleaning our

linens. We spent alot on these supplies but were kind enough to leave

them for the next tenant so they wouldn't have the same experience. We

were also told our deposit would be refunded but had to write a few

emails and finally we were going to alert VBRO and that got the owner's

attention and we finally got the deposit over a month after the first

correspondence from her saying we left the place clean and would be

refunded the full amount by the end of that week---not another month

later. As far as the location and the place itself, both were fine. I

don't think it's an unreasonable request to expect a few supplies that

would be minor in cost for the owner but as a tenant for the weekend it

was quite costly as we couldn't just buy what we needed we had to buy

way more and leave it behind. We will not be returning.

Owner's Response: Dear Kaluzny, I am very sorry to hear you were disappointed. The security deposit was returned within a timeframe that is consistent with the agreed terms of our rental agreement. Vacation condos normally do not supply soaps and toiletries like a hotel however some guests do leave items for future guests. You asked to pay significantly less than my offseason discounted rates and I accommodated your discount request since it was only the two of you. Also, I had recommended many places to visit during your stay, as you asked for things to do, best places to eat, attractions, etc. I always try to accommodate my guests as my goal is to exceed my guests expectations by providing things to do, making them comfortable at my condo with special requests and offering a like home relaxed experience. I am sorry you felt the lack of a few toiletries in the condo would deter you from renting again. Sincerely, Cynthia

Pony Penning Week Girl's Getaway

  • 5 of 5

The three of us had a fabulous time enjoying the 90th annual Pony Penning week. This beautiful condo was centrally located within walking distance of downtown shops and the fairgrounds. We especially loved being able to sit on the patio each evening while sharing a bottle of wine. One afternoon we even saw three dolphins!! Cynthia was very responsive and made sure that we had everything we needed. We'll definitely come back again!
