Perfect for what my family needed. So nice to feel “home” when you’re not.
Was a great space! Was hot In Philly while we were there so the air couldn’t keep up in my the bedroom my sons stayed in but the kitchen was nice to have - we walked to the local while foods - had our breakfasts at the VRBO before we started our day. 2 miles from the down town, we walked back one evening but was easy to LYFT everywhere! We had a wonderfully, memorable vacation!
My experience at Wekhouse
The property was clean and well stocked. Communication with manager was very good and so was the check in process. One of the shortfalls was that it did not have a dining table for a family of four to eat on and be together. We had to split up to eat. The home space is tight for a family of four. There is one bathroom which is very cramped and the door constantly gets jammed. The back bedroom was dark and gloomy. The kids were afraid to sleep there. The two white chairs in the TV area need to be re- upholstered as it was flaking. The towels that were put over it to disguise the flaw kept shifting and falling off when we sat on it. We had to constantly fix it back otherwise our clothes would have gotten the flakes stuck on it. The area was a bit shady even though we had no bad experience. I did not feel safe until I was locked inside. Security was good in the house as it had a functional alarm system. My family had a short stay of 3 days and the place served its purpose.
Great place, Kia is a great host accommodating and responsive.
I loved staying here! Would return and recommend
This was an awesome place to stay in West Philly! Kia was accommodative and generous, the rooms were nice, clean, and comfortable, and staying at this property noticeably enhanced the stay in the area. Would definitely recommend for anyone - solo, couple, or group!
Worked perfectly for our trip!
The home's location was easy to find and street parking was abundant which made the whole process less stressful for our first time. The home matched the depiction online perfectly, and we were shown where everything was located inside. Kia provided a handy folder full of essentials (such as wifi password, local eateries, and just some general ground rules while staying) as well as had the fridge stocked with drinks and snacks which was extremely helpful and appreciated. We greatly enjoyed our stay and the location was perfect- just a quick 15 minuet ride to the Convention Center were the event we were attending was at. Will definitely be looking into staying again next year for the event and recommending it to friends!
Its not what you think in the pictures
My sister and I and both our husbands were in town for a special event. I will give the pros and the cons.
Pros: the host is very friendly. Her home was very clean. She provided alot of bonuses like shower gels, breakfast, juice, and wine. The price wasn’t that bad either. She is roughly 20 minutes away from everything so that was cool. She is also very flexible as far as early checkin goes and she communicated alot with me prior to the stay.
Cons: the site says checkin instructions are given on the day before but when it was time for us to get them, it only said call or contact the host. Which was annoying because when we arrived I called and text and she did not answer but when we got out the car she just open the door, as if she had been waiting or watching. The house IS NOT what the pictures display. It was a two bedroom duplex with a sitting area. Full kitchen etc. There is a king bed in one room and two twins in another room. The sitting room looks like a bedroom on the website so when we picked this, you can imagine how awkward it was for one married couple to get the nice room and the other get the “kids” room. Its FREEZING!!! The heat is regulated outside of our unit but we were cold the minute we walked in. The host asked if we could be mindful of the electric bill by cutting everything off when we were out but it was so cold. She provided a space heater or two but it did nothing for that back room. She was very intrusive to me. Like once she gave us the keys, she came back in the house twice to use the bathroom. She creeped my sister out because she called while we were out one day and asked a bunch of Questions like where are you, when will you be back, what did you do yesterday, when are you going to your event today. The bathroom door is very rickety so you feel like you are going to break it every time you open it. The tv in the common area either didnt work or the batteries died because we couldn’t figure it out. Parking sucked a little because we would get back late and have to park over a block away. OMG THERE WAS A DOG! It is not mentioned on the site but the people upstairs have a dog. He barked all hours of the morning EVERY morning. It was so loud it sounds like hes in the next room.
Overall i would give this a 3 out of 5. This wasn’t the worst experience but it wasn’t the romantic getaway I expected. It felt like i was in town and i crashed at my auntys house. Only i had to sleep on the floor because the bed was taken.
