Perfect 1 bedroom in the heart of Rome
My husband and I enjoyed a week in this lovely apartment in May. It is in the Monti neighborhood which is central, not overrun with tourists, and yet a stone's throw from the Colloseum and Forum. Fun cafe's, trattoria's and delicious gelato are all in the neighborhood. The apt is clean and nicely decorated and has a comfortable queen size bed and shower with plenty of hot water. It is up two flights of stairs and on a quiet street that is accessed by stairs, so you want to be fine with that. The stairs were no problem for us, but would not have worked for my mother.
The apt. has a large outdoor patio that is delightful for morning coffee, afternoon naps in the sun and views of Roman roof tops.
We cannot recomend this apartment highly enough. It's a special place that will not dissapoint. Enjoy!
Pros: the apartment is very clean, nicely furnished (as shown in photos), in a great location near Colloseum, and metro stations, The owner was very responsive and helpful too. The outdoor terrace with table and chairs is an added bonus.
Cons: the piazza is accessible by long steep staircases, so don’t be misled by google maps! The apartment has no microwave or dishwasher; and the washing machine is tiny (it fits under the bathroom countertop). The kitchen is quite small, but It has a toaster and a stove top coffee pot, so it’s great for breakfast and lunches.
Overall, I would recommend this apartment and would stay again if
I am in Rome. It was a great location and we found it to be much more comfortable than a hotel room.
Great location - steps to the Colesseo.
Wonderful neighbourhood with great restaurants. Flat has everything you would need to dine in. Comfortable bed with room on the pull out couch for two kids.
Six Stars! Eight Perfect Days in the heart of Rome
Best apartment stay we have ever booked. From the moment we made our reservation, the service and attention to detail was top-notch. Deposit and payment arrangements were easy and smooth. Airport pickup was seamless; the driver was waiting for us right outside customs, and Elena called my cell to confirm that we had found him. Our international flight arrived very on a Sunday morning, several hours before normal check-in time; nevertheless, the driver took us straight to the building and Elena met us, welcomed us to Rome, took our bags, and gave us maps, directions, and recommendations so that we could become familiar with the area while waiting for the prior guests to check out. We were exploring Rome within hours of landing. The apartment is in a delightfully restored building on very quiet street next to a small piazza with a true neighborhood feel, but just a few steps brings you to the main streets of Via Cavore or Via Urbana with dozens of shopping and dining options. The location is absolutely superb; next door to Michelangelo's Moses at the church of St. Peter in Chains, a five minute walk to the Collosseum/Forum, steps from the Metro, and less than a twenty-minute walk to the Termini train station. Immaculately clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated, quiet and safe, the very best of the many excellent features was the beautiful terrace, where we breakfasted every morning and enjoyed glasses of wine most evenings. We plan to return to Rome as soon as possible after our magical visit, and would not consider booking anywhere else. Thank you for a lovely, lovely stay!
6 stars if we could.
Super clean. Well appointed. Very friendly and responsive.
Quiet, safe location, bright clean apartment, super landlord
We have stayed in the Monti several times and know the area. This apartment, separated from the more street active area of the Monti, provides a nice respite. Greeted by Elena - lovely lady who speaks very good English. The apartment was very clean with lots of light. The photos of the apartment were a good representation.
The living room was small, but adequate with a comfortable convertible couch and a TV that did have some English speaking channels. It opened onto a terrace with a nice area for sitting and having a drink in the evenings. The kitchen again was small with an adjacent dining area, both well lighted. The bedroom had a generous set of closets and shelves for hanging clothes and storing a few things. Very little room for an open suitcase and really no room for two open suitcases. The bedroom was not well lighted, but had very nice reading lights for reading in bed. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was well organized and very well lighted. The washing machine was located in the bathroom and worked well. Very nice mirror over the sink, but no full length mirror. The shower was typical Italian with a shower head on a hose that could be adjusted up and down as well as hand held.
Unfortunately, I contracted stomach flu and spent my days mostly reading or sometimes watching American westerns in Italian. We had to cut our trip short an take an earlier plane home and Elena arranged for a driver to take us to the airport. She was so concerned and sorry for my problems, that she personally paid for the driver. That's what anyone would call more than generous hospitality. Most assuredly, we will stay with Elena again the next time we are in Rome.
