Originally from Springboro, Ohio we recently relocated to Lake Mary Florida. With 3 children in activities we don't make it up to Norris as much as we would like, but it certainly makes us appreciate our time on the lake. The peaceful setting of the eastern side of Norris Lake makes for a more enjoyable, safer vacation for families of all ages.
Aimee Frantz purchased this cabin in 2006
This property is only steps from the water and your private dock. The remote, rustic feel of this area, combined with the modern amenities this home provides will make you appreciate the unique setting & experience this home delivers! With repeat guests coming back year after year, we truly are blessed to have such a beautiful property to share. Having vacationed on the other side of Norris for years, Lone Mountain Shores is truly in a category on it's own. Minutes from Bubba Brews, Norris Lakes LARGEST on water eatery / bar and also right around the corner from the newest marina, Norris Landing the access and options are vast for fueling up, grabbing a bite to eat or simply picking up snacks / renting boats & watercraft! If you want to play golf, Lone Mountain Shores is only 2 miles from one Woodlake Golf Club, cited as one of the best new courses in 2000!

The cabin experience was wonderful, we did a 14 group trip without feeling crowded, the cabin was very comfortable that fit everyone. Kids and adults enjoy the nature around the cabin, we went kayaking on the beautiful lake, exploring the mountains, fishing, playing table games at night and the hot tub, it really was an unforgettable experience recommendable for everyone, we felt like being at home without want to return home and stay forever through a peace and relax vacation. Thank you for everything Mrs. Frantz we will be back pretty soon to your lovely cabin.
The house is spacious and fit 5 couples in separate bedrooms comfortably. It was decorated very nice and had a very well stocked kitchen and 2 refrigerators, which was great for the large family meals we had every night. We had an unseasonably warm weekend in November so we were able to take advantage of the dock and canoe. One thing about the dock, there are a ton of steps to actually get down to it. No railings either so it was quite a hike - I'm not sure it would be a great fit for families with small children but for our group of 10 adults it was ok (tiresome, but ok - the lake views were worth it). The drive to get back to the cabin was more than I expected but as long as you do it in daylight (and have 4-wheel drive if its snowy/icey) you should be fine. I would definitely recommend double checking your grocery list before you arrive at the cabin as it is at least 30-40 minutes to just get back on to main roads. We had some small issues with the property but overall, it was a beautiful cabin that comfortably accommodated our multi-family trip so we were happy with the rental.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lake Norris! The Cabin was spacious and well laid out to provide for our family of 12 it never felt crowded. There are wonderful decks and screened porches that allow extended living areas and places to retreat and enjoy the surrounding outdoors. The cabin was generously supplied with games and activities to keep everyone engaged. The kitchen was terrific equipped with all the appliances and supplies we could ask for including two refrigerators - family meals were wonderful. The description and photos of the cabin are accurate and complete. The star of the show is the beautiful lake and surrounding countryside - it is magnificent!! The water is clear and great for swimming, canoeing, and fishing. The view is spectacular - the drive from Tazewell is challenging - take your time and enjoy the scenery it is more than worth it. All in our stay at Lake Norris was wonderful thanks to the owners for sharing this most pleasant experience.
This house is great all around. Largest and nicest pet friendly rental in this area. Plenty of cookware and utensils to accommodate large groups even a waffle maker.2 refrigerators. This house is set up better than any other rental I have stayed in. It is decorated very nice. It has a screened in sitting area with a ceiling fan.The views, fire pit, and dock are great. It is at the end of a road with 3 houses close. 1 is a permanent neighbor with another permanent neighbor in the process of building there home the other house is a rental. It is very quiet and peaceful.will definitely return to this house.
Excellent place to get away for a vacation and unwind. The cabin was great and easily accommodated 14 adults with plenty of entertainment. We took advantage of the local marinas; rented jet skis and a pontoon boat for the weekend. Even had a few cool nights to sit around the camp fire. The drive to and from town was a little crazy, so I highly recommend getting everything ahead of arrival. The owners were easy to work with and quick to respond to questions. Look forward to our next stay!
We had a blast, We used your cabin to celebrate my father in law's 70th birthday. It was disconnect many of us needed from are regular lives/ high stress jobs....thank you
