This isn't just a rental home, this is our summer home and our family spends extended time here every summer. It is important to us to have all of the necessities of home. We have equipped the cottage with the things we love and use. We love the simplicity and charm of living in this classic summer cottage, close to the beach and in a quiet neighborhood. We hope you will find it a comfortable place for your family to spend your summer holiday.
We have stayed at this cottage 2 times and are in the process of booking our 3rd returning trip. The cottage is conveniently located (2 mins walking distance) from Ridgevalve beach, the most beautiful and kid-friendly beach on the Cape. The cottage is very charming, clean, well maintained, and has great amenities. Jennifer, the hostess is very sweet and thoughtful; she thinks of and provides everything a family would possibly need including small things like Band-Aids, alcohol rubs and bug sprays. It has a shed that keeps bikes, beach chairs, beach toys and kayaks. We truly enjoy this cottage, going there has become a family tradition! Thank you Jennifer for sharing your beautiful cottage with my family! We will be returning many years to come.
We enjoyed a wonderful stay in this beautiful, charming cottage. The listing was very accurate in regards to location. A beatiful location and the cottage was so close to Ridgevale beach. The cottage had excellent amenities from wifi, TV, printer, fire pit, barbecue and outdoor shower which was invaluable after spending all day on the beach.
The kitchen had every utensil you required to cook for yourselves. The cottage was clean and well maintained and felt very homely.
At the back of the house was an amazing toy shed, which had bikes for all ages, trucks to carry all your stuff to the beach and best of all there were two canoes which our kids carried to the beach each day just a few 100 metres away.
Jennifer was fantastic in telling us about the house and kept us informed of everything we needed to know prior to our arrival
As a family we enjoyed a fabulous week on Ridgevale beach and are eager to return soon. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage to anyone as a base to explore a beautiful part of the world
I would recommend visiting the pier to see the seals in Chatham, for families with small children Campground beach was ideal with rockpools for the children when the tide went out and Skaket and Ridgevale beach for beautiful sunsets.
We had a fantastic week in a beautiful part of america and at the end of each day came home to this beautiful charming cottage.
This little cottage by the sea is a wonderful place for a family vacation. The owners provide everything a family could need: comfy, charming living quarters, a well-equipped kitchen, beach bags and a great patio. The garden shed behind the cottage is a child's dream filled with bikes, helmets, beach toys, chairs and a wagon to get everything to the beach and back. The cottage is located on a quiet street and the beach is a short walk away. Our kids had such a great time. We can't wait to return.
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful place with us!
Lovely little cottage! Has everything you could possibly need and then some! Plenty of space for 4 and perfect that they allowed the dog! Will definitely stay here again if we head back to the Cape!
My wife and I stayed here in August with our 2.5 year old. The location is ideal because it is only a 5 minute walk to the beach (when loaded down with kid accessories). Its also located on a quiet street (with a speed bump right in front of the house) so you can let the kids run around and play without much fear of traffic. You can tell the owner actually uses this home for their personal use because unlike other rentals we have had it had all of the beach necessities as well as cooking utensils like good pans and knives. Being so close the beach was huge with a little one as we were able to go to the beach quickly - and still get back for an afternoon nap, without wasting time in traffic or loading & unloading the car. It also allowed for pre-dinner walks on the beach or kayaking. We went out multiple times and the beach at Ridgevale is easy to access (at high tide) with calm water. The beach itself is also ideal for young kids because it is so calm with the tidal inlet available as well as the Sound. Jennifer has lots of good suggestions for places to go and eat - but we were so at home here, we only got to explore a handful. One tip - there are multiple "schoolhouse" ice cream shops one just up the road and another in Harwich - and they are both delicious. We loved our stay here and hope to return soon!
Our family of four has spent a week there the last two summers. It is a cute little house, small but well equipped, clean, and well managed. Features include an outdoor shower, hammock and firepit for s'mores. The location is terrific. It does not have a water view but is just a 5 minute walk to Ridgevale Beach. The beach is the major draw for us and the kids--it has the open water (southern facing) with gentle surf, a long shallow beach so you can walk out a long way, great for kids, boating, etc; plus it has extensive tidal marshes and inland facing beaches that great for wading, catching critters, kayaking, watching birds, pulling little ones around on kick boards, etc. The owner very thoughtfully provides just about everything you could need for a day at the beach - umbrellas, chairs, sand toys, nets, and more. There is a snack bar and boat rental from the beach. We load our gear onto the provided old Radio Flyer wagon, pull that down the beach and are set for the day. Pop back to the house for lunch if you like or bring it along. Also, the house is not too far from an entrance to the main bike trail. It is a 10-minute drive to the center of Chatham. The area restaurants vary in quality, we recommend Hangar B at the airport for breakfast (long wait but you can watch the planes come and go), Wild Goose Tavern for all purpose eating, Chatham Fish Pier Market for take away fried seafood; Bluefin sushi; Box Office Pizza. Unimpressed by the Impudent Oyster though the bar area is cozy. Also, take some time away from the bustle and hang out at the Eldredge Library, great for kids and adults.
One block from Ridgevale Beach. Close to bike path. Great area for families!
