About Aaron & Angela Buehler
We've been blessed to be able to take care of such a unique, historic and beautiful property. We, along with our boys, love Abbington and believe you will too.
Aaron & Angela Buehler purchased this Apartment in 1840
Why Aaron & Angela Buehler chose Crownsville
After receiving a Charter from King Charles I, Lord Baltimore (who married Anne Arundal) gifted the property of Abington to John Gaither of local fame and notoriety (founder of Gaithersburg). The property was given to Gaither around 1640 by Lord Baltimore. The house sits facing the main road which was once an Indian trail through the region. The main house is a 2 ¹⁄₂-story frame, side-passage, double-pile house with additions on both gable ends. The main block dates from about 1840. Steps in the cellar date back all the way to the early 1600's! On the properties are several outbuildings, including a stone and frame ice house, a frame, brick, and stone springhouse/dairy, a frame privy, chicken house, tool shed, a corncrib, a large, elaborate frame stable; and a frame tenant house. Abbington is on the National Register of Historic Places and the Maryland Historic Trust.

Charm and Majesty
Abbington is an exceptional accommodation. The setting is horse-country majestic and the apartment is classic-cottage charming (including four bouquets of fresh flowers!). Everything about it was delightful. And it's only 20 minutes from downtown Annapolis. We will definitely return.
The Perfect Home Away From Home
Perfect in every single way, thank you for such a wonderful stay. We look forward to visiting again soon.
Second time staying this year and just as lovely as the first time!
We highly recommend this beautiful hidden gem that's an approx. 15-20minute drive from downtown Annapolis. We love The Buehlers. They're easy to work with, communicative and response if we need them. The gorgeous home has a stunning view set in a beautiful landscape, so if you love open space and a rural setting thats not too far from town, with plenty of peace and quiet, this is worth checking into. Thank you!
This property is special and peaceful, yet close to any convenience a person would want/need. We stayed the weekend with our adult children (one from DC and one at Fort Meade - close to both). We visited Annapolis one of the days (also close) and had a wonderful dinner at Lures one night. The property is clean, comfortable, and the owners are very friendly and helpful. One of the best memories we’ll have is just sitting on the porch, catching up, and watching the horses.
It was a pleasure getting to host Susie & her family. We allowed use of some private space that typically isn't included in a standard stay so hopefully they were able to take advantage of that beautiful outdoor location in addition to the East Wing and it's 3 porches.
We were also able to help with a last second addition with relative ease. We'd prefer to limit the number of folks visiting the East Wing, but we're glad to make an accommodation to Susie and her lovely family in this rare instance.
We look forward to another opportunity to host the Cavenaile's anytime!
Wonderful Relaxing Stay in Maryland
We were looking for a relaxing and quiet place to stay while visiting our daughter at University of Maryland; someplace close enough to help give her a break from school as well as the bustle of Washington D.C. (where we usually stay). This property was perfect. It was a great base for visiting nearby Annapolis (with Baltimore and D.C. also options) while also being convenient for an event we went to at UMD. The best part of our visit was sitting on the porch drinking coffee in the morning or wine in the evening looking over the countryside and quietly catching up. The property had everything we needed and our hosts were vary gracious. We will definitely stay here again on a return visit.
The perfect getaway, easy access to Annapolis
Loved our stay here. Just a 15-minute drive from downtown Annapolis. Super peaceful. Lovely owners. Gorgeous accommodation. Highly recommend staying here!
