Traverse City Cottage Rental Photos and Description

3 Bdrm, 1 Bath, Lake Front/View Cottage - Minutes from Downtown Traverse City

About 7 miles south of Traverse City south just off Garfield Road and just north of Kingsley. On the south end Arbutus Lake. Other cottages are available so please call or email us - check out #283199 on HomeAway.

We have a recently remodeled cottage in this vacation lake resort which can accommodate 6 to 8 people. The lake property has 400 ft. of private beach with a sandy bottom, two rafts and buoys, four 30-ft docks, children's playground, volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, barbecue grills and fire pits.

If you are boating and/or fishing, the resort features a large boat house with private secured lockers, a screened-in fish-cleaning house with running water and a boat launch. Pontoon boat rental is available for an additional fee.

This is also a great location if you are planning to take a fall color tour so don't limit yourself just to summer!

Small pets are considered and renters are asked to clean up after them. The resort is not handicap accessible.

The heated vacation cottage has a newly constructed deck, kitchen with microwave, dishes, pots and pans, coffee maker and toaster. Bed linens and towels are not provided, however bedspreads, pillows and blankets are in the cottage.

The resort and cottage is secluded and quiet, located on wooded Arbutus Lake. Water recreation includes swimming, trophy fishing (small and large mouth bass, blue gill, perch, pike and crappie), boating and water-skiing. Nearby recreation includes golf, tennis, hiking, bicycling, horseback riding and shopping.

The cottage was perfect! It looked just as the pictures said it would and it had everything that you needed to be at a home away from home! Everything was clean and neat and cozy! The surrounding neighbors were friendly and the area was quiet! It was not far from downtown and it was easy to navigate through once we learned the area. There was a great view of the water and we cannot wait to retire during thesummer season! The owners were great and responded very promptly with any questions, concerns, or words of advice!

Loved our stay at the cabin. Plenty of room for us and such a nice area. 10 minutes from downtown and easy to get to. What else could one ask for? We hope to be back soon.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage.

The cottage was exactly as it appeared in the picture on the Home Away Website. Scott and Crystl were very gracious hosts. The cottage is decorated nicely, and was very clean. The view from the deck was awesome. We enjoyed our mornings relaxing on the deck watching the sun rise over the lake. The location was perfect, it was a short drive in to Traverse City. We made trips to Glen Arbor, Suttons Bay, Charlevoix, Petoskey and even Mackinaw Island. We would definitely return again.

Loved the location

Overall, we had a great vacation. The cottage is only a 10 minute drive from Traverse City, 30 minutes from downtown Leelanau and about 45 minutes away from Sleeping Bear Dunes. The location of the cottage made it very easy to go out and about without feeling like you are wasting your day away driving.

The cottage was very clean and tidy but we were disappointed in how high the cottage was on the hill and the distance from the lake. We were told it was about a 300-400 ft walk to the water down a short hill but really its not that short of a walk and the hill is steep in areas. This was a problem for my family because my father-in-law is disabled and cannot walk long distances, especially coming back up a hill. So we were forced to drive him up and down the hill each time he wanted to fish off of his boat, which definitely took away from enjoying the lake. Had we known the cottage was on a hill, we probably would have booked somewhere else. I was also disappointed that there were not clear instructions on where to launch your boat and where the docks were. As a new timer, I had no idea what was apart of the resort or what was off limits so it took some asking around to figure it out. The house was also not stocked with toiletries to last a week for a family of 5. We had to go out and buy paper towels, trash bags and toilet paper and for the price, I expected that to be included.

Again, the vacation overall was great because of the location of the cottage. I would suggest paddle boarding in downtown Leelanau, jet skiing in downtown traverse city, going to a beach on sleeping bear dunes and going to Apache Trout Grill (<---AMAZING).
