Lovely spacious and light apartment with views over New Steine gardens to the sea. It is in a great location for nights out, shopping, and seaside walks. Probably best suited to couples or small groups of friends, though kids are also welcome.

This is an old building, and the apartment is full of character - with original wooden doors, (nonworking) fireplaces in the living room and bedroom, and a beautiful wooden bay window. There is WiFi, gas central heating, constant hot water from a combination boiler.

Living room

A spacious comfortable room with sofa and chairs where you can relax, read, watch TV (new Samsung flat screen 'smart' TV), and a dining area, suitable for 4 to 5 people. A double sofa bed and 'cube' bed provide a comfortable place to sleep for up to 3 more people. A feature fireplace gives the room a homely character.


A large double bedroom, on the quiet side of the building. There is a fireplace, built in wardrobe, large chest of drawers, full length mirror. The bed is hotel standard zip-link, and can be used as a large double or two singles.


A new kitchen, equipped with washing machine, oven/hob, micro-wave, and under counter fridge with freezer compartment. Everything you need whether you are ordering a take-away or cooking for yourself.


Good size bathroom, with a shower over the bath and a glass shower screen. The shower has good pressure. A mirror window adds a very special touch.

Why Paola Grenier chose East Sussex

Its a lovely flat, in a lively area, with great sea views. It is a very comfortable size for a one bedroom property, it has a kitchen which is separate from the main living area, and has a nice sized bathroom. I also liked the original wooden doors and the feature fireplaces, plus the bay window in the living room.

What makes this apartment unique

The flat has a wonderful view over New Steine gardens to the sea, and somehow brings together the central location on a lively Brighton street with the calm of the gardens and the wildness of the sea.

Cute house near the seaside

We are a family of 5 and we stayed in this apartment during Chistmas holidays and everything was almost perfect. The house was warm and nicely arranged, and very convenient for reaching shops and the seaside.

Prima appartement, niet te duur alleen afhalen van de sleutel gaat zeer lastig en vreemd

Het appartement is netjes, slaapkamer, keuken en douche zijn schoon, kamer wel schoon maar een beetje gedateerd. Het appartement is zeker niet te duur. Centraal gelegen, vlak bij het strand en het uitgaans-centrum max. 15-20 minuten lopen en de bus verbindingen lijken ook prima. Het afhalen van de sleutel gaat zeer verwarrend en geeft wel een wat onzeker gevoel. Moest zelf 2x kort voor vertrek naar Brighton vragen hoe e.a. in zijn werk ging. Sleutel moet een paar straten verder 1-2 km. op gehaald worden uit een kluisje met een code. Het lukt te me niet de kluis te openen, gelukkig hielp de bewoner van het adres mij. Toen kon ik ook gelukkig vragen wat het juiste adres is, bleek nr. 17 te zijn, alleen daar aan gekomen blijkt nr 17 niet aan New Steine te zitten maar na later bleek om de hoek aan een andere straat, misschien een tip om dit vooraf beter aan te geven.

Al met al: verblijf /prijs verhouding: prima, maar vooraf wel een uitdaging, niet geschikt voor mensen die snel in paniek raken.

Mauvais départ !

L'appartement est parfait : moderne, très bien entretenu, il y a tout ce qu'il faut a disposition et il est placé à proximité de tout. Par contre, le gros point négatif est que la propriétaire, n'habitant pas en Angleterre, fait appel à une société pour donner les clés aux clients et cette société n'est vraiment pas au point du tout. Nous avions réservé un séjour de 3 nuits dont une passée à l'hôtel car nous n'avons eu aucune nouvelles pour les clés le jour de notre arrivée. Aucun moyen de contact ne nous avait été communiqué appart un numéro hongrois de la propriétaire qui n'était pas attribué. Nous avons du nous battre et contacter Abritel pour enfin récupérer les clés le lendemain et avons donc perdu plusieurs heures de stress et d'angoisse plus tous les frais supplémentaires d'appels, ...

En bref : très bel appartement qui en vaut la peine mais gros manque d'organisation !
