This condo is everything the description lists. It was very clean and well taken care of. The owner of this property has great customer service and went out of her way to make sure we were happy. I would recommend this property to anybody going to Luquillo. On the listing it says a car is necessary, and that is a must. The condo is gated and there is a designated parking spot to park in. Luquillo is a small town and its best attraction is the beach. Luckily, this condo has the beach right outside its balcony. It is absolutely beautiful. The beach straight out back has waves and if you walk 5 minutes (seriously) down the beach to the left there is a cove without any waves (you can see that area from the balcony as well). We are from California and I guess we are used to waves so we enjoyed both beaches. The water is a beautiful light blue and warm - a treat from what we are used to. Luquillo can be shocking from what North American cities are like. Instead of feeling scared in Luquillo (we never saw any homeless or scary looking people) we actually felt sorry for the little town because about half of the houses have been abandoned since Hurricane Hugo in 1989, but the houses that have rebuilt are quaint and well taken care of. The people we met in Luquillo were very friendly. Walking distance from the condo, on the corner of the street where the condo is, there is a restaurant named Guavas, and one street opposite the condo is a plaza with a church, a delicious bakery, the Mayor’s office and a convenience store. Next to the plaza is the police department and the post office. Five minutes drive away there are a lot of restaurants, a Walgreens and a super market. If you are used to traveling to other countries, or want to experience a different culture other than North American, then Puerto Rico and Luquillo are great places to come visit and I would say the best place to stay in Luquillo is this condo. We loved it and I even have the view from this condo's balcony as my computer's desktop wallpaper.
This was our first time renting a vacation by owner home Jan 14-17 . The condo had everything we needed! I mean everything! You could have cooked a 10 course meal with all the cooking equipment that was there. Its also very nice to have your own beach chairs to use. We used the washing machine and dryer which is right in the apartment. The bedroom linens were more than I expected and everything was so clean! You could really tell how well cared for everything was. The view is amazing and right next door to the condo is a wonderful small beach restaurant with amazing fish tacos and coco mojitos!. We often kept the patio door open so we could hear the constant crash of the waves. The bedrooms are all air conditioned and although the living room is not, you do not need it because of the wonderful breezes from the water and the overhead fans.Gladys met us at the airport for the transition for the keys which was very smooth. The condo is gated and there are several different keys to actually get into the place. The area was a bit different than I expected and at first I wasnt sure of the saftey but soon felt very safe and felt like I was really living among the locals. Our group was my husband and I and our teenage daughter and son. The condo is so close to many attractions such as horseback riding and the rainforest. We found a great juice bar nearby the rainforest called "degree 18" ( the acia bowl was the best one we had on the trip). The apt. is also close to the famous Kiosks. There is also a wonderful Mexican restaurant called Loitas near buy. The beach in front of the condo was really too rough for swimming when we were there. You can walk along the beach or the nice sidewalk that follows the beach. We traveled 5 min down the road to Luquillo beach which was beautiful and clean. Spent a day and a half there. We walked a bit into the town to get coffee one morning. Any local that we passed gave us a nod or a smile. We dont speak Spanish and got along very well. If you are looking for a fancy resort type town, this is not the place for you. As Gladys explained to us, when the economy bottomed out, the island suffered and is still trying to recover. Many people had to abandon their homes ,so you have a mix of condos like ours and homes that are decaying. If you want to be among the locals and really get the feel for this wonderful small laid back Puerto Rican town, I would recommend Luquillo and Gladys!
This condo is everything you see in pictures, read on reviews and more. I walked into a spotless, warm and tastefully decorated condo with everything you would pack to make your stay worry free provided and available for all to enjoy. From the impeccable linens and towels, to fully equipped kitchen, to beach chairs and towels. The balcony is comfortable and perfect for a peaceful breakfast and relaxation any time of the day. The sunrises were spectacular! The location... 30 min drive to San Juan, 10 min drive to the Rainforest, 5 min drive to supermarket, Walgreens and Wendy's (I prefer the 5 mins drive to the Kioskos and all the typical puertorican food). Steps from beach, bakery, restaurants and liquor store. The town has suffered the consequences of Puerto Rico's economic crisis but the locals keep the spirit and the warmth that has made Luquillo a favorite beach and surfing destination in the Caribbean. Gladys was very accommodating to my schedule and offered to provide anything I needed but, honestly, everything I needed was already included in the condo. Thank you Gladys for your attention to detail and kindness! Will definitely go back to your piece of paradise!
I loved everything about this apartment, waking up to the sound of the waves and the amazing view of La Pared Beach was priceless. The apartment had everything I could possibly need to feel at home. It has a great location close to shopping malls and tourist attractions. Gladys the owner was very accomodating and I can't thank her enough for making my stay an amazing experience!
This is a wonderful home, and the views are amazing. The home was clean, and well prepared for our arrival. We will go there again if given the chance!
This condo was everything that we expected it to be, and much more! The pics on the home away site of the condo itself are so true to what your getting, and the description is on point truly beautiful! You do need to rent a car to get around the Island, but the condo comes with a parking spot. Both the building and vechicles are secured at all times.
The Location of this condo is perfect it's in the center of it all, 45 mins away from old San Juan, 10 from el Yunque, and minutes away from one of the most gorgeous beaches ever seen!. The view off the balcony is spectacular we loved waking up to the sound of the waves every morning. We kept the sliding doors and front door open during the day the fresh breeze that come through was just perfect, and at night we were happy with the air condition that each room had. We enjoyed dinner at the Kioskos (#22 and #23) were our absolute favorites and Boardriders steps away from the condo had (great appetizers, and burgers). Breakfast we cooked in the fully equipped kitchen, and made our perfect Spanish style coffee from the cafetera Gladys provides. But for those lazy mornings when cooking was not an option, AROMAS cafe is a walking distance from the condo and what delicious breakfast they serve we LOVED their food, pastries and coffee was superb.
Gladys (the owner) was a great host; so pleasant to work with and easy to reach for answers to any questions you may have. Overall an extremely smooth transaction and communication. She met us at the condo for the key drop off, and was ready with a list of events, and attractions to visit during our stay. We actually visited and took part in four of the tours and activities she listed for us. They made our vacation stay that much better!
We've traveled a lot but I must say this one is up there as one of our favorite places to stay, wished we could of stayed longer. Thank you Gladys for letting us stay in your hidden gem..(may not be so hidden anymore) :=)
We will return soon..
So it's not adios pero hasta la proxima no veremos pronto.. Un abrazo y gracias por todo Gladys xo
