Newly Renovated: all new windows, sinks, toilets, kitchen appliances, air conditioning, heating - yet maintaining the warmth and character of the original Farmhouse.The Property: On the 47 acres, there is a great old barn which has been renovated, 3 red cows, a pony, a garage and a separate newly renovated caretaker's cottage, a large apple orchard . The house is set back about 1/4 mile from the road - rare for an 18C home. The woods have wonderful walking paths and the views are truly spectacular. The surrounding area is ideal for both biking and hiking.

Spectacular!

Our family has rented the charming farmhouse (and the beautiful farm: barn, split rail fence pasture, 75 year old apple trees) for the last five summers.

The house has lovely bedrooms, nice kitchen with an eating area, a big dining room, wash/dryer in basement, and cozy living room with TV -- but the porch that wraps around the side and front of the house is heaven. The porch has big eating table for meals, an "outdoor" seating area/living room, and a side seating area we often use for work/writing when needed. The views of the pasture, barn, wildlife (turkeys, Hawks, bluebirds, herons, deer, foxes, etc. etc) is peaceful and beautiful to watch.

The 1/4 mile long gravel driveway down to the road gives you plenty of privacy -- but running, walking, bike-riding on the road (East Alford Road) is also a big asset -- very few cars use the road and there are beautiful farms on ether side of the property for miles each way.

We are renting again this year and will every year. It's beautiful!

Owner's Response: It has been a joy to have this wonderful family as our guests for 5 years -- going on six. They have two delightful twin children who were nine when they first rented. They come from a city and the children have had a rural, farm experience and adventures that will be with them for the rest of their lives.

Notes:
Property is excellent for biking from the house. Some of the 47 acres are in the woods which are accessible with wonderful hiking paths throughout. Full Size Pantry. Working Barn. Apple Orchard, Vegetable and flower gardens maintained by caretaker. Most unusual for an 18C farmhouse, the main house is set back a quarter mile from the road because the original road is now lawn and part of the property.
