Exceptional Tahoe Keys Condo

  • 5 of 5

We rented this condo for a week during the 4th of July condo and had a wonderful experience!!! The owners have spared no expense in providing all of the little necessities that make a vacation rental feel more like home. The kitchen is stocked with everything you can imagine and of the utmost quality. The furnishings are very nice, extremely comfortable and provide the cabin feeling while being in a condo. They have also provided both patio furniture and lawn furniture outside as well as two fire pits that we used every night and they provided both warmth and ambiance. This is the 4th Tahoe Keys condo we have stayed in and it is the only one we will be staying in again.....we finally found the best one for us!!! Thank you so much Frank and Marie

5 adults and 2 kids with boat

  • 1 of 5

First off I want to say that we had a great time and the condo size and location are perfect for 7 people with a boat. However there were several things that happened that force me to give a less than stellar review. They are:

We told the owners that we were bringing a boat, but they said nothing about the requirement to bring boat registration and proof of insurance to get Tahoe keys HOA approval to keep boat on the dock, This forced me to call my insurance agent to get proof of insurance sent to me.

Ants in the kitchen, so could not leave any food out.

Bats had gotten through the netting on the eves of the upstairs balcony and were flying in and out all night, also bat feces all over the upstairs balcony. Was worried about rabies, so could not enjoy the balcony.

Owner said that they keep food in fridge and that if we use something up to replace. Well, most of the condiments and food were expired up to 2yrs old, so there was very little room for the good food we bought.

To top it off, I get a call a couple days after the stay with the owner telling me there were stains on the carpet where my parents stayed and we would have to pay for cleaning. We never ate anything in the rooms and my parents did not stain anything. My guess is that their house keeper missed it some time ago, and of course she had to blame someone as soon as she noticed it. Lucky us.It was only $100 cleaning charge, but it is the principle of the thing and getting blamed for someone elses stains that made me angry.

Like I said, if not for the above issues it would have been a perfect place to stay.

Owner's Response: We are pleased that despite the "issues" that our guests had they also had a wonderful time! In fact, the neighbors reported having fun as well when our guests came back from fishing and gave them some salmon! Now to address the complaints. First of all, the bat issue has been resolved by the Tahoe Keys Association as indeed we were getting a problem with this. Secondly, We have occasionally had ants (true at home as well), however, the housekeeper did not see ants before or after these guests departure. We do keep a can of spray there just in case, as we do at home. The Association does take responsibility for pest control on the exterior of the property. Thirdly, We do provide some basic food staples in the pantry, seasonings in the spice rack and condiments in the refrigerator which our guests appreciate! As far as expired condiments in the refrigerator over 2 years old?!!! We apologize as we must have overlooked some labels while replenishing the condiments at the beginning of the summer. Of course if there happens to be an expired product, we would welcome it being thrown in the trash! Lastly, and we think to the point, our housekeeper has always done a wonderful job maintaining the pristine condition we pride ourselves in. This is particularly true in our case as we have such a large inventory of amenities in every room for her to keep track of and clean. Upon the departure of these guests, our housekeeper was unable to remove some spots left by them, so we had a professional come over and do it for us. Since the carpet cleaning co. had cleaned and scotch guarded the entire condo 1.5 weeks earlier, he only cleaned the spots and charged $100.00 which was deducted from the damage deposit. We are sorry that our guest felt it necessary to follow through on his threat "I will give you a bad review if you charge me" but this charge was done in good faith. In the 6 years we have rented our condo, we have only charged a tenant 3 times for various reasons. Hopefully the good reviews of our other guests will reassure our prospective future guests that they can expect a wonderful experience in our beautiful Tahoe condo. We are available for any questions by those seeking more information. Frank and Marie, owners

The house is in wonderful condition, very well maintained and stocked with everything of exceptional quality, lots of tools, dishes, utensils, spices and other useful things. 3 bedrooms with en-suites bathrooms make it a dream for 3 couples. The grass field in front, between the house and the water is a perfect place to relax, eat, drink and to have a good time.

Relaxing time!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our week here. The Condo was perfectly appointed and comfortable! When we originally booked we intended to take our boat. We've done it several times before and being on the lake is a fun way to experience Tahoe! Unfortunately our boat had mechanical issues that couldn't be resolved and we took bikes instead and did several rides and day hikes. It was awesome and the weather was perfect! Then we came back and cooked in some nights, relaxed and watched some of the movies from the large movie library.

The kitchen is stocked as Marie will tell you with virtually every gadget you need. We felt right at home!

Thanks Marie and Frank! We're already looking at the calendar for next summer - WITH the boat!

We stayed here in February for 3 days and absolutely loved it. The location is perfect - really was a 10 min ride to Stateline, with grocery and entertainment all in close proximity. The entire place was decked out including a very nice kitchen which my wife loved! The massage chair may have been my favorite, although the beds were all extremely comfortable. There were lots of movies and books, they really are family oriented and seemed to care about who was renting. I highly recommend. Thanks Frank & Marie, see you this summer!

We stayed at this beautifully decorated and very confortable condo for the New Year's week. The kitchen was so fabulous we decided to make gourmet meals and eat in. The area and views from the condo are absolutely gorgeous with Mt.Tallac looking right at us. We enjoyed the confortable beds and the massage chair as well as the indoor pool and jacuzzi. These were great after skiing. The owners spared no detail as we also had a good selection of games, books, movies and music cd's for the surround sound. Liked the big screen too to watch the New Year's parade. We loved it and hope to go back many times.
