Our cottage is a clean 2 bed, 1 bath vacation home with room for six. Set amongst lofty pines in the quaint little town of Topinabee, it is an easy stroll from Mullett Lake -- part of Northern Michigan's famed Inland Waterway. A short drive away are Mackinac Island, Mackinaw City, Indian River's Cross In The Woods, the Boyne area ski resorts, Petoskey, and the shores of Lake Huron and Little Traverse Bay.
Such a cute and extremely clean cottage. We stayed for 2 nights on our way home after a week way up North in the UP. It rained during our brief stay but we still checked out the lake, had dinner in one of the great local restaurants and went over to Indian River to check out antiques at a place called 'Antiques Roadhouse'-- had some good purchases. Gorgeous area. We will definitely be back to this area! I'm sure it's even more beautiful in the sunshine! Thank you, Kristi, for the beautiful cottage.... such a relaxing couple of days.
Our family of four stayed in the cottage from 7/16-7/21 and it is absolutely wonderful! We have rented 5 cottages over the last 5 summers in Topinabee and this one is the best. Two large bedrooms, one with a queen and one with two twins. Large family room connected to the large, eat in kitchen. The whole cottage is VERY clean! The owners have thought of everything you could possibly need in this cottage. Kitchen equipment, full set of dishes, grill, laundry, soaps, towels, box fans, extra bedding, blow up mattress, pull out couch, board games, family videos, condiments, seasonings, paper towels, even down to the kleenex and air freshener! There is a full size washer and dryer and dish washer. Hot water was always available, with ample water pressure. The cottage is in a quiet area, not too near the road, so you don't hear any road traffic. Very peaceful, and a short walk (about 3 blocks) to the public beach. Beach is really nice and has swings for kids, a long dock for kids to jump into water and the public library is also there. The bike trail runs right through there and is excellent for biking, running or walking. Local Topinabee market (which has everything, plus excellent pizza) is also about 3 blocks away (across from public beach). Public boat launch is about 1/4 mile down from public beach. Mullet Lake is HUGE and is excellent for boating, kayaking and water skiing, etc. Lake is NEVER crowded! Mullet Lake is connected to Burt Lake through the Indian River. Take a boat trip through the town of Indian River and you can stop and have lunch along the way. Very relaxing getaway, and Topinabee is only about 15 minutes south of Cheboygan which is a larger town and has movies, larger stores, etc., for the occasional rainy day. Also helpful is that the owner's mother lives next door and is very friendly and willing to answer any questions. Owner was flexible on dates (unlike many cottages in peak season) and we did not have to stay the full week. Owner responded quickly to any questions I had about booking. We absolutely recommend this cottage!
The place is clean and well maintained with all the amenities. Its like a home away from home surrounded by woods and greenery. Very quiet and peaceful, just a short walk to the lake front. Ideal location for day trips to upper peninsula and other places in the lower peninsula. I would recommend this to my relatives and friends.
We would definitely consider staying here again. The inside of the cottage was very clean, well maintained, and stocked with all of the needed amenities. There was plenty of room to move around in. The area the cottage was located in was quite, peaceful, and like home. The manager who lived next door was friendly and helpful.
Peaceful, quiet, home away from home. The house was wonderful. Not too big and not too small for the three boys and I. It had everything we needed to be able to cook wonderful meals at "home". There are nice back roads to walk on and we were close enough to the lake that we could walk to that too. Lots of wonderful Northern Michigan nature to see. We saw rabbits, deer, raccoons, and a variety of different birds. It is only about a 10 minute drive to town. Lots of neat little shops and restaurants. The grocery store has prices that are for "real" people too, so you don't have to break the budget to get the things you need. The hosts were wonderful and provided everything we needed. The boys were calling it home by the time our week was up. The best part was that we were able to go home with clean laundry! We will definitely be back, and will be staying longer for sure!
Very clean and served our purposes well. Or ladies and all felt comfortable with their accommadations: a queen, 2 twins and sleeper couch. And had all the utensils we need to make a nice meal. Bathroom comfortable and plenty of hot water. hostess live next-door and made sure we had everything we needed to have a great time. she recommended we try the little diner in town and we had a wonderful breakfast with homemade cinnamon rolls. Plenty of chairs to sit and relax and talk which ladies like to do. Close to Mullett Lake. Will be happy to come back next year.
Located in easy striking distance of the Inland Waterway (via Mullett Lake), Mackinac City/Island, Petoskey/Harbor Springs, the Boyne area ski resorts, and the Great Lakes, Topinabee Pines is the perfect base for your northern Michigan vacation
