Grandas de Salime lies in western Asturias in an area called “The Historic Park of the Navia River.” The area features numerous historic ruins and beautiful architecture. The house is just 4km from the Chao Samartin Castro Museum and 5km from your door you’ll find the Ethnographic museum, where you can learn about the people of the region and their history. The El Camino de Santiago Primitivo or the Original Way of Saint James passes 2km from the house. This historic pilgrimage route is simply beautiful and takes you through unspoiled nature. Even if you don't hike the whole 12 days, it's worth at least a day's trek! One of the highlights of the region is the Grand Reservoir. The lake, formed by the giant dam, is a great place to sail, dive or take part in other water sports. It is just 10km from the house. The area's gastronomy is based on casseroles with beef, fresh fish and a variety of cheese. Try them all as bars and restaurants are just 2.5km from the house.
