I am a native Texan, born and raised in the Texas Hill Country. I have lived in the Napa / San Francisco area of California for 28+ years and absolutely love being home in Texas and catering to my Texas friends during the Summer months, and have been doing so for 10 years. I have met many incredible and fun people, many of whom have become more like family who book with me year-after-year, and who have also floated my private property in town! I look forward to meeting you, your friends and family and ensuring you GREAT Summertime fun!!!
Stacey Scott purchased this house in 2006
We have a long-standing record of providing not only PRIVATE access to boating / skiingrecreation on Lake McQueeney, but also PRIVATE tube floats on both the Comal and Guadalupe Rivers in the beautiful Historic District of New Braunfels. Our guests enjoy the BEST of both worlds!!!
Booking with us includes floating benefits in town in the Historic District of New Braunfels just across the river from the world-famous Schlitterbahn, on PRIVATE PROPERTY, at no extra cost; which includes tubes, private shuttle to and from Schlitterbahn, and floating BOTH the Comal/Guadalupe rivers in the SAME float trip, where the Comal River converges with the Guadalupe River. This is a floating experience you'll find NO WHERE ELSE and is exclusive to our property only!! Float as long as you want!!
our experience at this beautiful home on the river near New Braunfels was wonderful. The owner was a great hostess and was sure everything was provided to make our stay comfortable and relaxing I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone who is planning a vacation in the area.
This listing is a horrible misrepresentation of the actual state of the house and is the vacationer’s equivalent of being “catfished”. There was feces on the garage floor, dark brown stains throughout the carpet, and a hole in the bathroom door. There is no central air, only portable units which require the windows be left open for proper ventilation that leaves you with no way to secure your children or belongings. The TV’s are pay per view and are the size of small computer monitors. The room with the larger bed in it is the size of a closet. There are stained and torn temporary paper blinds on only some of the windows- there others are bare. There was garbage in the yard. Upon arrival, I immediately contacted the owner to make her aware of the condition of her home and she initially offered a refund if we were out of her home by 8PM. In the span of 20 minutes, while I was dropping my son off at Baseball Nationals, which was our reason for being in town, trying to navigate my way around an unfamiliar city, and trying to arrange for new lodging, she then decided that I had taken too long to inform her of my decision to vacate (mind you, this was 20 minutes) and she stated she was going out to dinner and ceased answering my texts/calls. I rushed back to her house and vacated the premises per her instructions well before 8PM. Later that evening, she informed me that she in fact would not be refunding my money, as she initially stated she would. Moral of the story- I recommend NOT paying this owner via PayPal. You have no recourse with them should you be dissatisfied with the property and wish to file a dispute. Horrible experience with this home and owner. If I could rate this zero stars, I would.
my family and I were so comfortable and I appreciate the accommodation that the owner Stacy had given us I can't wait to stay again in June
My family and I had such an amazing stay. So comfortable and beyond elegant. The owner was the most accommodating to all of our needs. I am looking forward to our next stay in June.
This lovely home was everything it was advertised to be & more. It does not sit directly on the water, but it is very close & yet just far enough away. You can look out the front windows & see the water from the front of the house, a beautiful view in the morning, while having my morning coffee. I arrived later in the evening, wanted to unload and then make a quick trip to the store, to get supplies for my visit. I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was milk, coffee, juice, fruit, pastries, eggs, bacon, you name it, it was there for my use, which was great, because I have 3 kids; 14, 3, and 1, so this was so convenient. I was pleasantly surprised to see how kid friendly the home was... there were board games and activities for the children. Also available to me was a washer & dryer, BBQ grill, whatever I needed. I was able to get a good nights sleep in the immaculately clean rooms & pristine bedding. This quaint little home was very clean, and cozy. I was so impressed, I would recommend that anyone wanting a "winter" home or a quiet getaway visit the Lake Haus. The owner was very attentive to my needs as well. I misplaced the gate key, for access to the water, within 20 minutes of our conversation, she was at the Lake Haus with a spare key for me (and yes, I did find and return the misplaced key). I just cannot say enough good things about this property and how my kids & I were treated. I would definitely return in the future.
Upon driving up to the "the lake haus" my family and I were skeptical about our destination. However, the property manager divulged in full detail of what we were to expect upon arrival. Disheveled yards and derelict vehicles were visible en route but once we viewed our destination, all anxiety melted away. The interior of the lake house was professionally decorated with beautiful window treatments, posh appliances and luxury bathrooms. The list of amenities is quite lengthy but my favorite was the daily restocking or fruit, breads and gourmet coffee.
When I was a child my father and I would take frequent trips to the other side of Lake McQueeny for fishing and camping. Now I have the pleasure of taking my son on the same adventures, albeit more luxurious than a Coleman tent. While the boys indulge in fishing the female folk can relax indoors with cold air and flat screen TVs. Aside from the immediate amenities, the area is loaded with family friendly destinations such as the Guadeloupe river, the world famous Schlitterbahn and the Gruene Hall. We had a stellar weekend and plan on returning at the first chance we get!
