About Bert & Terri Ferguson
Bert and Terri are active scuba divers, sport fisherman, hikers, mountain bikers and off road enthusiasts. Overall, we are adventurous and have a great love and appreciation for the outdoors!
Bert & Terri Ferguson purchased this House in 2005
Why Bert & Terri Ferguson chose Loreto Municipality
In Loreto Baja California Sur, we found a region with a rich and vibrant history. Loreto was the original capital of all the Californias over 300 years ago. It was established in 1697 by the explorer Juan Maria Salvatierra, a Jesuit priest. You can see evidence of this history in the Missions, municipal buildings and the hearts and souls of the Loretanos. Loreto is a natural playground for anyone who loves the outdoor life. Its azure, clear waters and tranquil coves provide scuba divers and snorkelers unparalleled underwater beauty and an abundance of sea life. Near the islands, the waters provide sportsmen with perhaps the greatest fishing in the world, with record catches of sailfish, tuna and dorado. The islands are easily visited by boat and such a trip will no doubt include sightings of sea lions basking in the sun on rocky coasts and dolphins leaping across the bow wave of the boat. Sea kayakers glide through the warm waters of Loreto’s bays to camp at remote beaches and sleep under the stars. For those who are more land-bound adventurous, the Sierra de la Giganta’s provides many opportunities for mountain biking, horseback riding trails and hiking over ancient trails used for hundreds of years.
What makes this House unique
Our Casa is ~50 feet from the beach and ocean, with easy access directly off the front steps of the property. The Village oceanfront malecon is walking distance from the Casa and is an ideal place for an afternoon stroll; or in the early morning, when the offshore islands appear like floating rocks in the Sea of Cortéz. The locals say that this is “where the mountains come to swim.”

A great location and amenities
The house was so well equipped and was very spacious. Really nicely decorated in authentic Mexican decor. It was a great layout for two couples sharing. We loved having the bikes and kayaks during our stay. The proximity to town and the beach were fantastic. The front deck and viewing deck were nice. We watched many a sunset and sunrise. We would recommend this home.
It is great to hear you enjoyed our Casa while in Loreto BCS. We hope your future travels bring you back to Loreto and our Casa. Muchas Gracias!
Very nice accomodations well appointed, liked the location.
Great property, though located in the middle of a small upscale gringo community. Well appointed and comfortable. I would stay there again.
Everything was as advertised and expected. We really enjoyed it. We used the bicycles a couple times. Large covered deck facing east was fantastic. Stunning views of the sunrise every morning.
Only complaint is that the kitchen needs a hand citrus squeezer for margaritas. :)
Friendly,, safe, clean and, affordable
Our Casa de Ensueno two week vacation was what a person who gets to break free every couple years would like. Watching the sunrise from the front deck with a great view to the ocean, was a view worth paying for.
The neighborhood is quiet at night and the municipal police patrol the area regularly. The bike ride and walk are both quick to the marina and local shopping. Lots of quiet beach walk time and the cruise ships only come in once per week. Our local fishing guide, Xochitl (Eugene) is an excellent guide and knowledgeable fisherman with quality equipment. His boat has a washroom and bimini top ( Ex-Pac Marine 613-114-6826). We were happy with our fishing with a great selection to eat back in northern Alberta.
Local vendors don't push sales and there is a great selection in many vendors. We noticed that virtually no one smoked. If we had to comment on one thing with regard to our temporary home, we would request screens on all four deck doors. Being a northern Albertan, we were hoping to avoid mosquitos at night.
Beautiful Sea of Cortez Access & View!
We loved our stay. It was so quiet and to be able to see the sun come up over the ocean was amazing! The rental was lovely! The bed outstanding! The rooftop was perfect! Thanks! We will be back soon!
We really appreciate your review and look forward to your return. Muchas gracias, Bert and Terri
