If you're looking for a peaceful vacation spot to decompress; this is it. The home is somewhat remotely tucked away in the woods on the shores of Walker Pond but still offers all the comforts of home. It is spotlessly clean and well maintained; the details and photos in the rental description are spot on! There are so many amenities included we weren't bored for a minute.

The hosts met us at the lake house to show us around and answer any questions we had. They are a wonderful couple and pleasure to meet. They're very knowledgeable about the area and have prepared a notebook with things of interest in the area and are only a phone call away to answer if any questions arise.

The kitchen is equipped with everything you could imagine needing including basic supplies and spices. There were many choices of pots, pans, skillets, stock pots & kitchen tools as well as kitchen electrics like a Crock Pot, blender, food processor, toaster, Keurig coffee maker & mixer. Meals were so pleasant with the view overlooking the lake.

The king size bed with a pillow top mattress was very comfortable; we slept quite well.

The fishing was great both from the dock & boat while on the lake. We caught and released small mouth bass, pickerel, perch & pan fish. It was great fun! The loons could be seen with the young one swimming on the lake.

We enjoyed the side trips to small towns nearby and the state capital of Concord; they're all within a short drive. The climb to the top of Mt. Kearsarge was breath taking. The view from the top is incredible. The day trip to the coast and visit in Portsmouth were both scenic and interesting.

We were saddened as the week drew to a close but hope to return again and would recommend this home to our friends. The memories we've made and friends we've met will not be forgotten.

Perfect Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

Before I even discuss the property, let me say that Roger and Sally are great hosts. They made our stay very comfortable and provided a warm home for us. If we had any questions, they always responded right away.

The property itself is wonderful. There is a great room with a beautiful view of the lake. The large windows in the great room can be opened let in the fresh air and, in the evening, the loon calls. The house is nestled in the forest with trees providing shade over most of the property.

Inside, Roger and Sally have provided everything you may need to make your stay relaxing. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, cookware, utensils, and even spices. The beds are comfortable with plenty of coverings and pillows. The whole place is decorated and well maintained.

Back outdoors, is a boat dock on the lake and your choice of a canoe or small fishing boat with trolling motor. I highly recommend taking the fishing boat around the lake to see the loons and enjoy the water. Closer to the house is a grill and picnic table and a patio with table and chairs.

The location is great with several small towns near by and Concord only 20 minutes away.

Thank you Roger and Sally.

Relaxing/Quiet & Peaceful Place

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I enjoyed our time here. The house is very nice and well maintained. The kitchen was very well supplied with anything you need to cook a meal. The views of the lake are breathe taking through out the house. We definitely felt at home while we were here.

The owners are especially welcoming and leave ample information on things to do in the area as well as details for venturing out on the lake. Sitting out on the deck and listening to the loons or watching them swim by was a treat.

I would recommend this property to anyone! The house is located in a remote location so you won't hear lots of traffic going by nor will you be surrounded by people. I look forward to visiting this property again...thanks for a great stay Sal and Rog we really enjoyed it!

A LIttle Slice of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

Arrived on a Saturday afternoon and within two hours was already starting to decompress. This hidden gem is a great place to relax, read, and recharge your mental batteries!

Anything you could possible want or need is right at your fingertips: a fully equipped kitchen with a new dishwasher, tv with satellite channels, books and movies galore, and the linens were oh, so comfy on the new beds.....many more amenities than my own home, and so clean and well taken care of!

The owners are the perfect hosts, explaining all the little things you need to know, and informing us of what's in the area....they also supply a wonderful notebook with all kinds of information and places to visit and eat. This house makes a wonderful "home base" for sight-seeing or shopping.

Would I recommend this to a friend? Without hesitation! And I plan to keep coming back, year after year. If it's peace and quiet you want, you'll find it here.
