My husband and I both moved to Savannah to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design - and as you can imagine, we fell in love with Savannah and never left! My husband is an artist and I founded and run an educational non-profit.
Christen purchased this townhome in 2007
Savannah is a destination, and when you live in a destination, family and friends visit often! After years of accommodating our friends and family, it was at their recommendation that we looked into purchasing a vacation rental. We selected the Mimosa House because we loved the area - close to everything! a beautiful block, large yard and deck overlooking garden for our four-legged visitors or to enjoy the beautiful weather! A cozy place to call home on your next vacation.
Our most unique feature of the home is the art collection! Most of which we traded with the artists themselves and some of my husband's original pieces as well. Additionally, the large deck overlooking the garden is an excellent way to enjoy our Savannah weather year round! Staying in a historic building also captures Savannah's unique Southern charm!
Once upon a time, in this house in downtown Savannah, close friends and family met for a Thanksgiving celebration which was going to be unlike any they had ever experienced. We had the time of our lives. Thanks for the memories "Mimosa House".
My family of 5 humans and one dog (father, husband, sister, sister's boyfriend, myself, golden retriever) stayed at the wonderful Mimosa House right after Christmas in December 2016. The house was a perfect fit for us with plenty of room in the kitchen, bedrooms and living room. The house's location is easily walkable to/from all the major Savannah hot spots and the yard /super close proximity to Forsythe Park were ideal with our dog. Christen & Gerome were very friendly and helpful hosts and the home had everything we needed. Highly recommend!
We had a family of 4 and we were in Savannah for a family wedding. The location of the Mimosa house was convenient to walk to many of our event venues and to downtown. It was also close to the local Kroger's, many great restaurants, and Forsythe Park. The home was comfortable and spacious. We stayed in the room with the King Sized bed, my 26-year old son had the room with the Queen sized bed and my 21-year old daughter occupied the room with the futon. Everyone was comfortable. The kitchen appeared to be well stocked, but we only used the coffee maker and the toaster. The only suggestion would be to add a couple of full length mirrors (with good lighting) and some place other than the bathroom for applying makeup. The bathroom had adequate light for putting on makeup, but it was the only full sized bathroom and the two females couldn't take over that room without creating problems with getting everyone showered and ready to go. We made it work...so this is a minor obstacle.
We enjoyed our time in Savannah for Christmas. It was wonderful to be able to walk to Kroger to do our grocery shopping. It was a convenient location to the water front and historic district!
Fabulous location in the heart of Historic Savannah. It is incredibly easy to walk to many sites with ease. The house gave us an instant feeling of old Savannah. Very comfortable. Grocery store just next door made it so easy to fill the house up with food and feel like you were home.
We took a short trip tp Savannah to check out Savannah College of Art & Design. It was the perfect location. Close to everything! It gave us the perfect feel for the city and the surrounings. Such a quiet street and Kroger was a block over for the early morning coffee run. It was very clean and comfortable! Would highly recommend The Mimisa House for your adventure to Savannah.
I had a group of friends all come together to stay in this beautiful home in the historic district of Savannah, for a car show - The European Experience. The house inside and out was beautiful - the decor, the feel and the surrounding area. It's a short walk to Forsyth Park (which is beautiful!) and super conveniently close to Kroger's. The location is centralized to the historic district, Tybee Beach, Hutchinson Island and downtown Savannah. The owners were so nice and helpful. We had quite a few people staying with us but none the less the owners were very understanding and patient!
All of us here who stayed at the house want to thank you for letting us enjoy your beautiful home and we hope to be back in the near future! :)
