A lovely home on historic Powder Point, is just a short walk from Big Beach across the Bridge (one of the longest open wooden bridges in the world). The home is very private with a large deck and outdoor shower facing off the rear of the house into the large back yard providing optimal privacy. The newly renovated kitchen provides the opportunity to prepare wonderful gourmet meals that can be served in the formal dining room or on the deck.

This home was just a savior to us. We had some work being done to our home and this made the transition so much simpler. Everything was in clean working order, the location was very close to the town center and the schools for our three girls. If we need to find a temporary home again, we will look no further! Thank you!!
Not really set up for guests.
Check with the owner to see if he has resolved the following issues:
only coffee maker was a percolator
no instructions for TV; couldn't figure out how to get content; did not appear to have cable
had to ask for kayak (it was not on property as described, but owner brought it over; not easy to figure out where to put it in the water, though; a map would be helpful)
beds were not made, just linens laid out for us to make beds
towels and sheets were old and didn't match
In addition, note that there are two sets of connecting bedrooms; you have to walk through one bedroom to get to another. The largest bed was a queen.
If you leave the bathroom door open when you shower, the smoke alarm will go off.
The house is old and charming and the floors are beautiful. The owner asks that renters not wear shoes in the house.
Owner was very available by text to answer questions.
Thank you, Alexandra, for taking the time to comment on our beautiful cozy antique home. Please be assured that in addition to our percolator, we now have a new coffee maker. We have also new sets of sheets and towels. We strive very hard to be as accommodating as possible so we are sorry you couldn't manage the kayak and TV...as you said, we are very available for any such questions. Finally, the State Fire Code requires the smoke detector to be where it is so I would suggest you shower with the bathroom door closed on your next visit? We look forward to seeing you again soon. Kind regards. Nathan
Great home and rental expereince
This beautiful antique farmhouse on Powder Point was a wonderful place to live. The proximity to Duxbury Beach, Snug Harbor, Duxbury Schools and Millbrook made it an ideal location. The house itself has so much character and charm and is situated on an expansive lawn. We have had such a good experience renting this home and highly recommend it to others looking for either a short term summertime vacation or a longer term rental. In both cases the benefits of its location and charm of this house are outstanding.
Duxbury is one of the most exclusive and sought after towns in New England. This coastal community is loaded with arts, culture, history (the Pilgrims settled here), golf, boating, swimming, all sorts of water sports, fishing, exploring, biking, sailing. Powder Point is the most exclusive neighborhood in Duxbury, at the end of which is one of the longest uncovered wooden bridges in the world stretching nearly a half mile across to the famous 'Big Beach' which boasts a length of nearly 6 miles of untainted sand and dunes.
