Great 2 bedroom/2 bath home with large kitchen, dining and living areas with windows across width of house overlooking Canyon Lake. (If an extra bedroom is needed, please check-out our 3 bedroom waterfront home right next door: Property #3006248).
Our 2-bedroom home has ample space to enjoy the out-of-doors, utilizing the 4 main "outside living areas":
1) Spacious porch overlooking Canyon Lake, connected directly to the house with 3 ceiling fans across the 35 foot expanse, a great porch swing located on one side and a large picnic table, seating 10, located in the middle of the porch area;
2) 400sf deck with two tables providing seating for 8, located on a level slightly lower than the house and porch--great for morning and evening meals and gatherings;
3) A stone patio, nestled in oaks and cedars, is located at a great vantage point to view the fire pit and Canyon Lake. This level is closer to the Lake shoreline and great to use as a base for enjoying the Lake or to sit and watch the numerous boats, kayaks and swimmers on the Lake.
4) The hot tub is located on a separate extended deck where evenings can be enjoyed anytime but especially good when enjoying the sunset and/or star-lit night and a fantastic view of the Lake.
We have ample wildlife with sightings of fox, roadrunners, raccoons, birds galore and, of course, abundant deer that visit each morning and evening (and in between if you will feed them) looking for corn which we provide for your enjoyment. Many will eat from your hand!
Stairs and a path lead to the Lake shoreline where you can kayak, boat, water-ski, sail, paddle board, snorkel, fish, jet ski, or just lay on a float and watch the clouds go by and the activity on the Lake. Or if you prefer, take a swim and enjoy the cool, refreshing Canyon Lake. Boats, kayaks, etc., can be anchored just offshore.
Another relaxing location at our home to pass the day (or night) is sitting on the porch-swing reading, contemplating life, and/or watching others enjoying water activities.
What you have to look forward to:
**Take the steps down to the Lake to take a dip in the cool. clear,
refreshing water of Canyon Lake. Get the kids and go fishing at
the water's edge.
**Feed the deer that congregate at the front door (some will feed
from your hand!).
**Enjoy the hot tub while watching the sunset or the moon rise
over Canyon Lake--or a clear star-lit night with a shooting star or two--or three!
**Watch the numerous boaters/jet-skiers and other water activity
from the privacy of 4 locations on the property.
**Don't Forget to Plan Carefully for the Sunset!: Gather round with
your cool refreshments of choice and settle in to watch the
unforgettable sunset. Each evening is different so you don't want
to miss the show! As the fireball finally settles down behind the
hills, toast the wonderful day, ring the bell (located on the back
porch) and plan for the next fun-filled day!

Our home is located on grounds that contains 2 homes with a vacant lot between,. The homes can be rented together, giving lots of room to accommodate an event (i.e., wedding, family reunion, corporate break-out, etc.). The two homes together will sleep 12 to 16. Our home on Canyon Lake in the Texas Hill Country affords the ability to enjoy so many activities in the area--we are half way between San Antonio and Austin. With such convenience, we have best of all worlds--water and related activities, beautiful scenery, rural living but close proximity to major metropolitan areas. Our home is quaint and set in a natural environment to enjoy nature at its best.
What makes this House unique
Our home is very special to us . We take pleasure in sharing our labor of love with our guests. The property is purposely kept a bit natural to enjoy nature at its best, deer visiting at our doorstep morning and night and our grey fox making an appearance from the den below the bluff. there is also the fire pit to enjoy smores and most importantly, the pleasures of a natural Canyon Lake shore. Don't forget the incomparable, beautiful Sunsets!! ENJOY!

A Rental that Exceeds Expectation
We arrived late afternoon to a yard full of almost-tame Canyon Lake deer and a sense of relief that here was a rental that actually exceeded expection! The house is right on the lake, it was beautifully-decorated, there was nothing lacking in the kitchen or anywhere else. The hot tub was looking right over the lake but still very private. The outdoor stereo speakers allowed us to listen to the tv/CD's while grilling out on the deck. And though there were houses on both sides, we felt very secluded due to the way the house sits on the lot.
We had a great time feeding & photographing the deer; the owners provided a bin of corn for us to feed the deer. We only left to do some riding in the beautiful Texas Hill Country surrounding the home; the rest of the time we just enjoyed the lake and house.
The nearby town offered a well-stocked grocery store, several restaurants, a liquor store - very much more available in the town than we expected.
The owners were great to work with from start to finish. When we couldn't figure out how to turn up the temperature on the hot tub, we called and they not only gave us concise instructions but also had several great suggestions as to what to do in the area.
We had a friend stay overnight who lives about 100 miles from this property. He was so impressed that he got the rental info from me so he can rent it in the future.
We will definitely be back, and will tell anyone interested in a Texas Hill Country rental about this place. It was reasonable, private, well-stocked & beautiful - all the ingredients for a perfect vacation!
Beautiful views, cozy house. Great relaxing getsway!
The house was clean, well stocked, comfortable and very easy to relax in. The hottub was great for cool evenings and the decks were prefect for the view of the sunset. The deer were awesome, my kids loved seeing them every morning and night. The fox made an appearance too. Skipping stones and floating on the lake were some of our favorite memories made here. It's close enough to large towns and San Antonio for day trips, but far enough away to forget about it all and just enjoy the beauty of the lake. The AC was cold, water was hot and there were board games and movies along with the TV with dvr which was nice for my younger kids to have something to watch when they needed to wind down before bed. Our family of 8 fit comfortably and was so happy to fit around one table for our family meals. We will definitely look for dates available at the cabin for our next trip down to Texas.

Great View and Sunsets
We visited the Canyon Lake area to relax enjoy the beautiful scenery. The house was comfortable, clean, charming and provided a view you could look at forever. We spent hours sitting on the porch swing looking over the lake and watching the clouds and boats. The area provided activities such as hiking, parks, nearby fishing pier, boat launch and a marina. Nearby Bait Shop provided all the essentials and advice for catching fish from the pier location. The Wimberley Zipline Adventure is well worth the 45 minute drive and provided additional views of the hill country area that you can't see anywhere else. Many good restaurants are located within 30 minutes and the house is nicely equipped to BBQ or cook from the kitchen. The owners provide corn and the deer will spend hours in the yard eating and waiting for the next splash of corn. We read about the fox that visits, but we were unable to get acquainted and only saw her once during our three days. The house has a hot tub which we tried once, but the water temperature was a little too cool for our liking and stayed around 91-94 degrees. We had a great time during our stay and the owners provided great directions and information for the area. Thanks for providing a nice rental.
Amazing View and Comfortable Stay
Our stay at the property could not have been better and the owners were very polite and courteous in all of my dealings with them! The views are fantastic from all of the various decks and porches on the property. The kitchen and grill are well equipped for all of your food preparation needs. The bedrooms are spacious and cozy.
Boat launch is less than one mile from the house. A short 10-minute drive takes you to Crane's Mill Marina where boat slips can be rented on a daily basis and motor/pontoon/sail boat and jet-ski rentals are available. There is a restaurant accessible from the Lake as well as a front drive for vehicles. Drive 15 to 20 minutes to Hwy 306 to tube or fly-fish on the Guadalupe River. Awesome shopping is available in Winberley, Bourne, Gruene, Fredricksbrg, the outlet malls in New Braunfels and San Marcos and, of course, Austin and San Antonio--all can be reached within 30 to 60 minutes (with exception of Fredricksberg which is closer to 80 minutes). Gruene offers live music nightly (summer) in places like historical Gruene Hall. Restaurants abound in these areas or you may prefer a simple home-delivered pizza from Startzville. Other Activities: Parasailing, Kayaking.

Cancellation Policy: Booking can be cancelled with minimum 30-day notice and forfeiture of 50% of total rental fee plus $250 security deposit. If Owner is able to re-book for the exact dates, Tenant's full payment will be returned less a $100 booking fee. At Owner's discretion, Owner may offer the option to reschedule for comparable dates within 6 months of cancellation.
