The Kitchen is very well appointed with all the mod cons you would expect (dishwasher, microwave, double oven, gas hob etc) and the open plan living arrangements means that chef is never excluded from the action or the views!
The stylish bedrooms, all on the ground floor, feature new linens and fresh decoration. Two bathrooms, (one shower/bath, one shower) have been recently decorated and installed and feature pumped water pressure systems.
Even the mundane aspects of self catering are well catered for; There is an extremely useful utility room featuring separate a washer, dryer and sink - which is accessible straight from the garden to help you deal with the inevitable sandy shoes, clothes and toes. The shower room connects directly here also, so getting the sand out of the harder to reach places is also a breeze. As you would expect, the property is centrally heated.
The Garden features a range of outdoor furniture and planting and extensive and private patio area, with your private beach access, which in a matter of footsteps, takes you through a lovely grassy area through to the dunes and the gorgeous, safe and clean Greatstone beach.
The Hot Tub seats 6 adults and is located in the private rear garden, so when tired of the view upstairs, have a soak in the tub and enjoy the lovely garden. Day or night, winter or summer, the bubbles are terrific!
We accept that not all our guests will want to use this facility, and reflect this in our charging structure. Guests who do wish to use the tub, will be provided with a modest, optional nightly quote. Please note, children under 5 are not permitted to use the hot tub.
I am a Mum to two boys, and live in Kent. This is our first holiday let, and I am really hope you enjoy the house and area as much as we do!
Victoria Angel purchased this house in 2014
We have searched for a 'home with a view' for 4 years. We had stayed often in Whitstable, but had a real yearn for a sandy beach. When we discovered Greatstone, we honestly couldn't believe we hadn't heard of it before as it ticked everything on out wish list! We are so glad we stumbled across this place, and are completely besotted with it! The house is really well thought out and designed, with the living area on the top floor, so makes the most of the views, yet it is also really private - the perfect blend.
It's literally 'on the beach'. No roads, pathways or obstructions, the dunes are just outside your back gate. Sun rise is worth getting up for!
Thank you for letting us to stay at your house.
It was an unforgettable and wonderful experience we had during this weekend.
We really enjoyed the sun and the seaside. Children loved every bit of the time spent there.
We will definitely come back to stay at your house.
Whole family had most amazing time in the house! It is at the beautiful location, it has breath taking views and most of all the house is well equipped, clean and very comfortable.
Lounge is located upstairs so we were able to look at the sea and relax.
We had most amazing time in the hot tub which made this stay more special!
Great place for whole family! Really friendly and supportive owner! Thank you Victoria!
My wife, me and our 5 children completely enjoyed our autm holiday in this generous beach house. Booking and transfer was uncomplicated, although we did it from Germany. There was enough space for everyone, enough dinnerware, a big washing maschine and tumble dryer. The children loved the short way to the beach and also the weather was amazing fine. All in all it was a very nice trip to England. We like this land, the people and will certainly come back. Special thanks to Victoria for her kindly support service and answering patiently our different questions.
Lovely house, so close to the beach. Nicely furnished. Loved the balcony with views over the sea. Nice bedrooms with lots of storage space. Hot tub gorgeous. Very helpful owner.
Even though we were a bit unlucky with the weather, my friends and me had a great time celebrating my 30th at this gem of a house. Everybody loved the house! The hot tub and big BBQ definitely made up for the fact that we couldn't spend time at the beach although we would have liked to use the fire pit on the other side of the garden fence. Time flew by so quickly we didn't even turn on the TV a single time. Everyone said they would love to come back to this place again in the future.
Really good size house for 8 adults for the weekend. Had everything we needed plus more.
Kitchen was well equipped and the living room gave great views across the sea.
The hot tub and fire pit really added to the weekend.
Would definitely come back.
Six adults, two children and one baby managed to fit pretty well in the house, although the twin bedroom which looked quite sizeable on the website, has small narrow beds in it, better suited for children than adults. The bunk beds were bigger than the twin beds! We had to change the mattresses over to give extra width and support for the adults sleeping in the twin room. It would be a good move to provide full size twin beds or advertise this room as a second children's room. The other two bedrooms were very comfortable. The shower room and bathroom were both quite adequate, but beware the strange dip in the bathroom floor. The hot tub was bliss!! The living area on the first floor with its balcony looking over the dunes to the sea is well designed and spacious, although the table was rather sticky, so we used all the table mats to cover it when eating. The owners have considerately provided a lot of child friendly equipment including an all terrain buggy, very useful for the baby on the beach. The kitchen was well equipped, although we had to defrost the freezer before we could use it properly. The window keys on a large bunch took a while to decipher as to which key opened which window. Maybe leaving the window key in the room with the window it opens, in a drawer perhaps, would be more helpful? The sea goes out a long way at low tide, leaving a lovely strand of sandy beach, but which turns to mud not far offshore. We had some great sandcastles! If you like collecting shells, there are some very pretty ones. The Little Train never fails to please, so a ride to Dymchurch to the funfair gave a lot of pleasure. Food shopping is handy at Sainsbury in New Romney, which also delivered a punctual order placed online when we arrived. As the Olympics were on, we were able to keep up with the Games as there is a very good TV. All in all, we loved our stay, and had a great family time here and appreciated all the creative touches and thoughtful provision. It was clean and caringly looked after. Would we come again? Definitely! Its a lovely house and a place to be recommended. Thank you for all your help Victoria!
If you can drag yourself away from Kent's best and most unspoilt beach, there are a huge range of tourist and leisure activities that await you. Immediately nearby you can visit the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, Dungeoness, RSPB Nature Reserves and Romney Marsh Nature Tour, or further afield Dover Castle, historic Canterbury and Rye, and Port Lympne Zoo are easily accessible and most enjoyable day trips.
For those that want to fully immerse themselves in a more adventurous beach life, Greatstone Sand Flats is a world class location for Land Yachting and Kite Boarding. For a more relaxed afternoon on the beach, the sea shells are plentiful, diverse and often surprising large and would grace any collection while and the sand is just perfect for building castles!
