About Tom Ellicott

We are crazy about Highlands and have owned a cabin there since 1998.

Tom Ellicott purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Tom Ellicott chose Highlands

We love the privacy of this cabin. It's the last home in the community and it's the only one with a creek plus a great view. We bought it new and added many custom finishes. It's just a special cabin, you'll see.

What makes this cabin unique

There is nothing like Highlands! The restaurant scene is dynamic, the hiking and waterfalls and cool weather make it very special. Shoot us an email for our restaurant guide. All our guests receive one.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I just arrived reluctantly back home in Miami after a lovely two weeks + in Highlands at the Creekside Cabin. What a wonderful place, thank you!

I have to say that we have rented many places over the years and this is one we would definitely rent again. Not only was the location wonderful but it was incredibly well appointed and maintained house. It was truly ideal.

Thank you for providing such a great home for our mountain get away.

Absolute perfection beyond our expectations

  • 5 of 5

The most quiet and relaxing house which was very well needed while escaping from Los Angeles! Came to the mountains for a wedding, and we did not want to leave! May try to plan a return trip for a much longer stay! Thank you so much for the hospitality!!!! Plenty of room, cozy, and welcoming!!!!

A serene and refined experience.

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a quiet retreat with a refined mountain feel, comfortable quarters, and tasteful appointments, look no further. The location is ideal-as it is midway between Highlands and Cashiers.

All three bedrooms have private baths and lead to spacious living and dining areas. One of the best features is a screened in porch running the length of the house and commands mountain views. It is divided into three areas that flow seemlessly: a large wooden table that can seat eight, a living area with sofa and large stuffed chairs, and a grilling area with rocking chairs. Ample discrete (and dimmable) lighting makes it easy to transitions from reading, conversation, or dining.

This is our second time here and we plan on rebooking soon.

Comfortable, woodsy cabin

  • 4 of 5

Our family enjoyed a week in the beautiful mountains at the Creekside Cabin so convenient between Cashiers and Highlands. You couldn't have a better location for restaurants galore, fine shopping, hiking, breathtaking waterfalls and all the wonders of the area. The cabin sits so peacefully deeply surrounded by trees and laurels. The brush was rather thick around the creek which was almost dried up because of drought in the area. I'm sure the rushing waters at other times of the year do provide a great sound when sitting on the screened porch. The owners have provided all that you need, even staple items that you wouldn't expect. We enjoyed the hot tub after dark and liked that other homes were visible so you don't feel so isolated. The surrounding neighborhood has well-kept homes as well. We plan to return to Creekside Cabin.

A great property!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed Creekside Cottage- from the fire pit (perfect for roasting marshmallows) to the hot tub to the well equipped kitchen to the spacious great room... it was wonderful! Oh, forgot to mention the TWO gracious dining tables, one inside and one on the screened porch. Very well maintained, it is perfectly located between Highlands and Cashiers. Our three generational family had a relaxed and fun time at Creekside, and we definitely hope to go back!

This home was perfect for our Families Destination Wedding gathering.

  • 5 of 5

I would recommend this property for sure. It's a great place to unwind with family and friends. Nestled under huge hardwoods, surrounded by Mountain Laurel and beautiful shade loving Hostas and Ferns. The hot tub was very clean and positioned in a great place to enjoy a nice mountain view. The home was well stocked with everything you might need for enjoying a perfect get away.
