I was brought up on a farm, just across the border in Devon and went to school in Launceston, so I guess I'm 'Devonish', a mixture of Devonshire and Cornish! I lived and worked away for nearly 10 years before buying Ta Mill, roughly co-inciding with the birth of my first child. Over 20 years later, a second child, plus a sheep dog, cat and many more sheep, Ta Mill has been lovingly renovated and provides a unique hideaway for exploring the beautiful county of Cornwall.
Helen Shopland purchased this chalet in 1997

After a couple of miles, you reach Ta Mill and drive down through the tunnel of trees to the secluded hollow where the cottages and lodges are nestled. This unique setting is a real gem and the accommodation allows visitors to experience the quiet ambience for themselves.

Thank you for a wonderful stay at Ta Mill. The Lodge was very clean and well equipped and surprisingly warm. The ground at Ta Mill were excellently maintained and the nature trail was a wonderful walk for my two Labradors who really enjoyed it. Although the weather was not very good, it didn't seem such a disappointment when you have a very good clean place to stay with kind and very helpful staff and proprietors. Please use this email if you wish as you deserve the praise and recommendations.
Hope to see you again

Helen and Richard, welcoming and friendly. We're very much looking forward to our next stay with Alfie our Jack Russell. Beautiful location. Wonderful views.
The lodge was comfortable and there was enough space to live in. It was very clean, nice bed linen and anti allergic mattresses.
Friendly host.
Quiet surroundings and more beautiful than the photo's show.
We had a lovely view on surrounding hills and meadows.
