Great country cottage
Great location out in the country about a ten minute drive to Stirling. Nice cozy country cottage.
Nice and quiet
This is a quiet location away from crowds and a perfect location for day trips. Everything was clean and comfortable.
Wonderful property with great rooms and in a nice country setting. Easy access to Wallace Monument, Stirling Castle and shopping. Highly recommend this cottage.
Needs some simple, but important improvements.
On the positive side - it is a quiet location near Stirling. It’s comfortable and well furnished, exactly what we were looking for. On the negative side - after a long day of travel it was frustrating to have to spend over an hour to figure out how to turn on the heat an operate the stove . The instructions left were really unorganized and inadequate (many, hand written and some seemed to be written by previous visitors). Also, it should be that difficult or expensive to ensure there is adequate basic supplies like toilet paper and paper towels.
Great last minute getaway
Cottage is well equipped and spacious. 2 adults 3 kids and 2 dogs. Open fire was a favourite, kids thought was great. Beds comfy, electric reclining sofas with usb charging was also a winner.
Jacuzzi bath was the only negative. Water was only Luke warm and we topped it up with kettle water and shower. Then turned jacuzzi jets on and bath ended up covered in dirt from the jets 🙈.
All in all the positives outweighed the bath issue and i still give the cottage and holiday 10/10 ... will definitely return :)
Perfect place, perfect position!
We loved it - it’s well equipped, comfortable and ideally located for exploring the Trossachs, Stirling and surrounds.
The surrounding farmland has lovely green fields and grazing cattle who nosy over the garden fence. You are only a short drive away from the village of Kippen, which has great local facilities with a butcher, grocery shop and award winning pub and restaurant. Nearby Balfron has a 18 hole golf course and Carron Valley has graded mountain bike trails. There is ample opportunities for fishing (by permit) on the numerous surrounding lochs. The Campsie Fells and Fintry Hills provide a variety of walking tracks and the Trossachs has spectacular mountains to climb like Ben Lomond, Ben A'an, Ben Venue and Ben Ledi. The city of Stirling is less than a 15 minute drive away and offers wonderful historic places of interest to visit, a great shopping centre, leisure facilities including a large multi screen cinema. Blair Drummond Safari Park is a fantastic day out for all the family. There are numerous activities available for every age and interests including clay pigeon shooting, horse riding, guided walks, 4x4 safari's, quad biking and sailing. For the more adventurous Aberfoyle has a high wire forest experience, with the longest zip wire in Britain. It ia an area steeped in history and there are lots of places of interest to visit. The Loch Katrine Steamship 'Sir Walter Scott' is a great cruise, reached by a thrilling drive over the twisting undulating 'Duke's Pass', or experience the 3 Lochs Forest Drive. Visit Scotland's only lake - Lake of Menteith - and take a boat trip over to Inchmahome Priory. This great central location provides opportunity to explore Stirlingshire and the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park.
