Willamette Valley Oregon House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths picturesque serene setting.

The Lake House

Nestled in its own world, the Lake House rests within Yamhill County's magnificent wine country. It is the perfect get-a-way retreat.

There are no words or pictures that can adequately describe the serene environment. With 3.5 acres of playing ground, a small lake, three large bedrooms, two full baths and two half baths, it can house up to three couples.

If you long for a bit of activity in between bouts of relaxation, the Lake House is located fifteen minutes from Carlton's wine tasting 'district' and fabulous eateries. The tasting rooms in Carlton provide an exceptional experience from those who prefer sweet whites to Oregon's sought after Pinot Noirs to the rich dark reds produced from the grapes of Southern Oregon. It's all there.

The house is fully furnished and includes a well equipped kitchen. All you need to do is the grocery shopping. Whether it's this weekend or any other vacation you are planning, I hope you consider The Lake House for its ideal location in Oregon's rural Yamhill County.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This is truly a beautiful spot and a home that has been well-maintained. Our family enjoyed this place! As many other have noted, it is the perfect retreat after a big day of wine tasting. We would love to come back during summer to enjoy the outdoor patio. Thank you for the hospitality.

Wonderful retreat, although we missed the driveway on the first pass. Best to stop when GPS says you are there, and find the number on the mailbox. We had two families stay who were in town for a memorial service. Remote location meant quality family time. We had a picnic in Newberg with BBQ Slick's, which is on Villa Road past the Newberg airport and the kids were fighting for the left over pulled pork. Pond was so beautiful

Hard to find -Worth the effort

  • 5 of 5

Hidden up a wooded lane on a hillside, just a few miles from MANY wineries, this nicely kept and well supplied house was a great setting to relax after days of touring the area. The black berries were ripe and delightful (early September). The pond is naturally green with moss and we did not have any mosquito problems. Getting there from either direction does involve a bit of travel on a well maintained gravel road, and; make certain you find the address # on the mailbox before turning into the lane... our GPS wanted us to turn in about 100 yards away!

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed your stay and the blackberries! Thank you for your suggestion on making the driveway easier to find. We will be doing some brainstorming to make that happen!

Beautiful, quiet, remote setting

  • 3 of 5

My husband and I spent the weekend at the Lake House enjoying the Willamette Valley. The house was comfortable for us and would be comfortable for as many as 6 people. The living space looks out over the pond, and the kitchen is well appointed. All three bedrooms are well decorated with large beds; the one bed we used was very comfortable. We were a bit disappointed in the showers in the bathrooms; the master bathroom is under the eaves and has an interesting arrangement for the shower. We did not use that bathroom. The shower stall in the other bathroom was tight for my large husband. It was delightful to look out that bathroom window and see deer outside the house. The house is several miles outside Yamhill and off a gravel road; we really enjoyed how quiet it was. We wished we had been there when the pond wasn't covered with algae; it must be gorgeous when the water is clear.

Owner's Response: We are so glad you enjoyed your stay in this beautiful, natural setting. Oregon had an unusually long spell of hot, dry weather and the fairy moss took advantage of that and thrived during late summer in our normally clear pond. As hard as we tried to keep ahead of it this summer it seemed to be winning the battles. Plans are in the works to give us the "upper hand" for the upcoming season. Thank you for your feedback!

Nice Place

  • 3 of 5

This is a nice house. I give it 3 stars for the following reasons: (1) Wireless access is difficult and limited. (2) Lighting in the kitchen space is horrible. The three track lights are not enough. (3) The middle bedroom is very constrained/cramped compared to the other two rooms which are ample.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback and review of the property. We just remodeled the kitchen this season and enhancing the lighting is one of the things we have been discussing, so your comment is very timely and will definitely be a factor in the decision making process!
