This cabin surely lives up to it's listing as being private. We loved that we saw no neighbors, only heard birds and the soothing water wheel and viewed beautiful moonscapes in the absence of street and city lights. From the lush bedding and towels to a kitchen full of amentities, the owner maintains a well-appointed retreat leaving no comfort need unmet. We appreciated the cleanliness, beautiful furnishings, and lighting fixtures inside and out that add to the ambience. Bringing our pet meant so much to us too!
I loved our stay at the Waterwheel cabin. My wife and I went for our anniversary and had a great time. The property is well maintained and has a lot of amenities. Three tv's all with DVR, a great little back porch where we drank coffee in the morning while listening to the sounds of nature, or even a game of horseshoes, there was always something to do on the premises. We used the hot tub in the evening after our day hike in Great Smoky Mountain Park and it helped soothe overused muscles. If you like privacy this is a great cabin as we saw no one else in the vicinity of the cabin our entire 3 day stay. If you do need assistance Michael is very responsive to questions or concerns.
To get to local attractions and shopping it is only a short drive into Bryson City where you will find most anything you might need.
Overall the stay had no negatives and for the price can't be beat. We will definitely consider staying here again if we return to the area.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The cabin was cozy and comfortable. Was stocked with basic supplies like linens and dishes. Nice fire pit witch we enjoyed almost every nigh. The,hot tub was great to unwind in after running all day with the kid. It is off the beaten path, but not so far out you can't be in town in 15 min. For us it was somewhat centrally located. We traveled all thru the Smokey Mountains for 7 days. Several things close by are Smokey Mountain Railroad, white water rafting, zip lining, Cherokee reservation and several national parks. If you book this cabin I don't think you will be disappointed. We were very happy. Overall a great little place.
Very clean! Beds were comfortable. This owner has it all covered including great customer service. Secluded but yet not too far from local restaurants and attractions.
The cabin was beautiful and had absolutely everything we needed to have a relaxing stay. It is centrally located to all of the local attractions. It is quiet and secluded. The hot tub in the Water Wheel cabin lent the property an air of old timey roughness with a modern luxury.
The trip was great and my family and I would stay here again.
Most of the time when you stay in a vacation rental there is only a one day supply of...well...just about everything: toilet tissue, paper towels, towels, etc. This owner has thought of everything, including cleaning supplies, ice, beach towels for the hot tub, salt, pepper, etc. We were pleasantly surprised. We didn't use the hot tub at all, but it was hot and ready to soak in when we got there. It was SO quiet on the side of the mountain, except for the occasional road noise which may be only because it's SO quiet, peaceful and private otherwise. There is another cabin above this one, which I'm sure can be seen in the winter, but we saw no one during our 2 day stay. The cabin has DISH network, so we were familiar with all of the channels and it worked just great. The TV (in the living room) was a good size HD and had a clear picture. The internet was immediately available, too, and we had no issues (as we have had with other rentals). Downtown Bryson City was only a 20 minute drive and Cherokee about 30 minutes. The ONLY negative is the steep, narrow, dark (at night) gravel drive up/down to the cabin. We made it in our Dodge Charger, so a 4x4 vehicle isn't needed, but just be aware as it may be challenging with a 4-cylinder car. All in all, this was a nice relaxing stay.
